They wanted to paint it like Trump drew up the op on an etch a sketch and that he rushed mission planning so he could get his first "win". In reality there was an uptick of drones reconing the target, which is kind of an indicator. Bad guys aren't stupid and they're pretty good at base defense. Every person on that compound was a combatant, even the women, and they were expecting a direct action hit. So when shit goes sideways, which it ALWAYS does, the press couldn't wait to blame the new guy.

Frankly, I am sort of surprised that some of this board's "independent" thinkers were not blindly repeating and then using this as an example of administration incompetence. Maybe they actually read far enough into the AP's own story that actually said the Mexican Prez said this never happened.

I am starting to believe this is part of an overall media mocking strategy by the Trump Admin to actually make the MSM look even more ridiculous. They are toying and manipulating them. 1)"unnamed official releases conversations"....2) the media blindly runs the "gotcha" story......3)All actually involved in the reported conversation say "No, never happened" (because it didn't) 4)Trump tweets their ignorance and Press Sec blows them up in the media room.
