I just wanted to say this season has been quite a ride! Like many of you I hate to lose at anything. I hate to see the Herd lose. However, loss is part of life. If I learn from it I am a better person.I think this years team was a bit of overachievers. Coming into the season we had a few unknowns but were solid in many key positions.

However we began to see attrition pile up. The loss of Butler, AJL and AJ Leggett was necessary but had to hurt some. Then losing your best 2 players, 2 guys who would have been drafted into the NFL (Rock/Van Horn) really messed up continuity big time. The QB situation probably ended up for the good although you have to feel for Birdsong who gave it his all.

Counting this season we have been playing at the FBS level for 19 years. To date we have had 7- 10 win seasons. We are in a position to reach this level again if we can win our bowl game. Many on here speak of how soft our schedule has been. However it is no worse than it has been for the majority of years of playing FBS football. As former members of the MAC and current members of C-USA all we can do is win the games on the schedule. This years edition of the Herd showed me some heart. Other than yesterday we were the better team every week this season. I guess we could debate if we are better than Ohio, maybe equals. For us to reach the end of the regular season with 9 wins is a testimony of the depth through recruiting of Doc and yes coaching by Doc and staff.I think we are positioned for a great run of success in the years to come and have chosen to sit back and enjoy the ride.
