Did Chief Justice John Marshall own slaves? I was curious if he did. I read a brief article online that said he did. Is that true? I mean today a Columbus news station said the are going after the statue of Columbus. The scope of this(statue bashing) is now expanding. If he did will they tear down his statue on campus? Yes he did and supported abolition at the same time.

Not sure. But put in perspective, I bet 85% of the protesters in Boston today have never heard of Justice Chief John Marshall.
