Question for you Herd fans about Doc

I've seen some of your games on TV (so excuse me if I'm way off on this). But it appears to me that Doc isn't as "fiery" as past years. Has he:

1) just mellowed out with age

2) kind of burnt out

I've heard from some of my MU friends their displeasure with Doc this year, and really last year too. But is it really Doc or is it his assistants? I guess it just appears to me that Doc isn't having fun anymore coaching. After watching the WKU-LT game, you guys have a legit shot of running the table because those two teams didn't play a lick of defense and your offense (if your QB is healthy) is as good as theirs.

Again, I could be wrong (and probably am...wouldn't be first time). Thanks and good luck against North Texas.

We have had a tough OOC schedule this year. That plus the fact that we are a very young inexperienced team this year. I think people are somewhat spoiled with 10 win seasons the past three years. People cannot deny the success that Doc has had here. The biggest truth is that we are a very young team playing an extremely tough OOC schedule. This season will get better as rhe players get more experienced and we will be fine. Doc is a good coach and best of all, he is happy where he is. I am very happy with Doc and one down year is not going to change that.

yes we have one of the harder OOC schedules we have ever had (Pitt and UofL). we also got destroyed (worse home loss in stadium history) by an Akron team that will finish 3rd in the MAC east.

not counting the nearly impossible schedule (/sarcasm) from this season, Doc is 12-23 vs FBS teams that finish the season with a winning record. this includes such juggernauts as Ohio, Bowling Green, Akron, Middle Tennessee, Rice, and Western Kentucky...

so yes, we have a young team with a schedule that may end up ranked lower (more difficult) than last year's #138, or 2014's #124, or 2013's #122, but Doc has proven he can beat (most of the time) the teams he should while struggling (and losing more often than winning) against teams that have any kind of pulse...

Our OOC is about the same as many G5 schools. Yeah, we are young because of the high attrition on our team. jmo
I do think Doc may have lost a little spark but I too think he is happy here. Has he gotten too comfortable? Not sure. But it seems Legg sure has. LOL!

I think we'll be ok in the future. Doc just needs to get kids on campus and keep them here.

Oh my good lord fans!
TwolfHerdfan just said the magic word - YOUNG! How many times have we continually heard this - we are young! BS TwolfHerdfan. Every year that we start poorly - historically, it's the old "we are young." Man I'm 70 years old and have watched the Herd since 1960. We were young then and seemingly have not aged yet!

I call bullsh*t on this response..... Doc sucks. I'm tired of the "very young team" excuses. He can't reload, can't coach, he has been LUCKY since he was hired.

There is no emotion on the sideline with the staff. Things have to change and Doc has to pull the cord.

Wow Eerbillys everywhere!!!!!! They live on our board yet are afraid to play.

Question for you about Holgerson.

Does he coach every game coming off a huge bender? He always looks like he just got out of bed and is hungover and confused.

Let's be reasonable right now: no one is afraid to play us. On a good day I have just a middling hatred for the team from the 'hole, but no one has anything to be worried about right now, unfortunately. Also, I thought his name was Horsewomen? Lol.

GREAT!!!! I'm look forward to the announcement soon of a continual home and home series in football and basketball !!!

Somebody call the Gazette guys, were finally going to play ball!

Do you ever hesitate for a moment to think about how ridiculous some of your posts are?

There are many reasons to play this game and some reasons not to play. It doesn't matter how many times YOU say it, WVU isn't afraid to play Marshall.

WVU only has 3 non-conference games to schedule. 1) regional P5 program; 2) neutral site money game ; and 3) home game with a G5 or FCS opponent. Since Marshall has decided not to always play the game in Morgantown, WVU has decided to sign a variety of different schools to complete the home schedule.

Besides, WVU was criticized for scheduling the last 7-game series with Marshall when the Herd was at a low point so I'm not sure now is the time to resume talks on a new series.

Do you ever think how ridiculous it is for eerbillys to live on our boards, literally obsssed by what we do, yet won't play a home and home series?

One MORE TIME!!!!! LISTEN YOU EERBILLY IDIOTS! IF YOU DONT WANT TO PLAY HOME AND HOME EVERY YEAR THEN GET HELL OFF OUR BOARDS!

@at Greenhouse - do you really think the mods or rivals want the "eerbillys" off our boards??

The want clicks.

If you've not noticed this isn't really the most happening place compared to others' boards.

I'm sure the Mods would like it if more of our rivals would post on here to help stir up friendly "rival" shenanigans

I'm guessing some of the trolls and eerbillys are doing it to poke fun (most actually) kick is when we're down , rub salt, etc. but. Some also come on give fresh points of view from an opposing point of view.

To me that's what part college football Is about.

It's a message board for cryin' out loud. Don't take it too serious as you end up chumming the water for more of it.

Clicks mean nothing to me. Literally, nothing. They have no impact on anything I do with the site.

I ban WVU trolls pretty much every day. However, the ones that come here to talk shop in a respectful way get to stay.

Maybe I'm biased, but this board has picked up a ton lately. Most of the talk has been very good, even in the midst of a disaster of a season. By my count there are 15 active threads within the past 24 hours. That's a long way (in a good way) from where the board was at this time last year.

Doc would be re-employed within days if he were let go at MU; and yes, as a Head Coach. We're very lucky to have his dedication to integrity, energy, knowledge and commitment at MU.

He may be able to get a head coach position somewhere else, but it would be a lateral move or a step down.

No "eerbilly" lives on your board. No "eerbilly" is obsessed by what you do. No ''eerbilly" who posts on this board has any power whatsoever in scheduling matters between Marshall and WVU. Why do we "eerbillies" visit your board ? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we grew up following both the Herd and the Mountaineers. Maybe because some of our friends and family went to school at Marshall, and others at WVU. Maybe because some of us "eerbillies" lived through the plane crash with you.....Maybe because you don't have a smack board where we could do some good natured bickering...........
