Look...the reality is that we simply can’t keep allowing people to flood across our borders. One side gets that, but historically hasn’t done much about it. The other side acts as if they don’t respect our national sovereignty at all.
If it takes a guy like Donald Trump to be a dick about it, but the issue gets fixed long-term, then I’m ok with that. All the faux outrage in the world won’t change the fact that adults are illegally crossing our borders, knowing that they will get separated from their children when they do. That’s on the parents, not Trump.

It's not just the US. People from shithole countries with their shithole customs and shithole ideas are invading the west. The Asian countries have it figured out: they tell them to go **** themselves. Trump is doing an admirable job trying to save the US taxpayer, but the democrats need more dependent voters, and poor brown people from shithole countries who will be 100% reliant on taxpayer handouts will be straight ticket democrats for life.
We have spent decades trying to make those countries better by sending billions and billions in food, medicine, cash, technology, etc. The simple fact is that certain cultures have not evolved societally which is a recipe for disaster when your population increases. So these people want to go places that have evolved, but they want to bring their backward azz culture with them. A country has to be ignorant to import those wanting to remain entrenched in a failed culture.

It's pretty simple, really. Figure out how much unskilled labor you need and temporarily let them in from Mexico/Latin America. Tons of the temp farm immigrants return to Mexico for the winter growing season, they are not much of an issue. The smart ones can have a path to citizenship. Figure out how much skilled labor we need and let them in with a path to citizenship. And then if anyone fires a skilled, qualified American and replaces them with a cheaper foreigner, hang them...or fine the ever-loving shit out of them. No more firing American IT guys and replacing them with cheap immigrants.

Cruz bill aims to keep families together in detention centers while doubling the number of immigration judges to try to free up the log jam and expedite hearings.
Feinsteins bill makes it illegal for DHS DOJ and HHS to separate families at all except in a few certain cases, ie fear of abuse or trafficking. They arent held in detention centers and are free to remain in the country until the time of their hearing.
