Recruiting

Former players are not happy with whoever it was that recorded this.

Seems like the same umbrella of feeling entitlement that breaks up locker rooms. Wonder if Pitts and douchebags like that recorded this...

Saw this the other day and wasn’t really impressed. He just says what anyone with any intelligence would say if they were in his position. He knows how other coaches sell against him so he has a response for the objection.

The guy who impresses me is the one who can take a guy from Alabama. That’s the pitch I want to see.

What's impressive is that Saban keeps it going and it doesn't appear to be stopping. Usually after 4-5 years of dominance teams start to slip. Saban instead just got the highest rated class ever(according to 247) and has managed to stay with or ahead of those chasing him.

At the rate that Saban is going when he hangs it up he'll be on top of one of if not the best coaching careers in history. Every great coach trended down before they finally hung it up. Saban doesn't show any signs of slipping.

And Huff is the one that did it! Coombs signed

Agree. That's what impresses me about it. The continued drive to be the best and keeping the expectations and quality of play at the highest level. That's darn tough for anyone but yet Saban seems to be able to do that and get that from his kids. jmho

Well, the basic premise I saw in the whole 2:20 is if you go up against better players in practice you get better. also, it seemed to me he insinuated the best in practice play in the games, which to me hinted at: if you don't think you can be the best in practice or at least try to be the best, go somewhere else where you can play early.

Just look at how Pete Carrol dropped off at USC. They had probably some of the most talented and deep rosters in CFB history for about 3-4 seasons and then it started to decline. Bowden fell off hard, Paterno fell off, Holtz fell off, and we can keep going. Bama just continues to get better.

I posted an interview with Coach Huff and they asked him about Saban and something about smiling or enjoying their title. Huff said that as soon as that night ended they were already having meetings about recruiting and the next season. There is no resting on their success. You heard DeVonta Smith after the championship game echo those sentiments.

I hope Coach Huff brings that "never satisfied" attitude.
