The fact that they added the debt ceiling to a relief bill is awful. Good for them for voting no. It's a sad statement about Washington when even that can't be a simple vote.
And before extra chimes in yes I said the same about sandy

Most of those same clowns that voted no, due to the debt ceiling being a part of it, will be the same clowns that add to the debt with other foolish legislation in the future.

==================TERM LIMITS=====================

First, I don't have a problem with raising the debt ceiling.

Second, Congress should be precluded from bootstrapping any one bill to another. All legislation should have to be considered independently.

Can you imagine the change that would create in the establishment if a law were implemented to this end? It would have significant repercussions in the way we're governed and in ending the pork that leads to corruption of the legislative process.

I am tired of the gotcha game with this shit. One side will say they are bad because they raised the debt ceiling, the other will say they are assholes for not helping disaster recovery. It's just stupid. I'd rather go back to earmarks and buying votes than play this game.

Why does the government give any money to private citizens to rebuild their own personal property? It is the responsibility of that property owner to buy flood insurance from the government or if you need higher limits buy from a specialized carrier. I have minimal flood insurance on all my property even not in a flood zone cause it is rediculously cheap. For any coastal property I have including my house I buy from Chubb and pay through the nose. But that is my responsibility if I want to protect it. Its rediculous. The government should be responsible for temporary shelters and providing temporary relief (food and sanitation).
FEMA should not be dishing out 30k per household to rebuild your home. It's insured or it's not. End of story.

It depends. Are they poor? Some communities the shitty part of town floods. Are they rich? Should pay for their own flood insurance. I think the federal flood insurance program should be means tested, otherwise we subsidize wealthy people to live in dumb places (the beach is beautiful, but it's a damn dumb place to build a home). Others I feel bad for and don't mind helping. You can trace Louisville's eastern migration to the 1937 Flood, those with money moved to higher ground and the areas of town they left are no lower income. Poors have to live somewhere.

On another note, people don't realize how much infrastructure gets damaged in a flood. It's a damn mess.

Speaking of insurance, I just got my first damn auto insurance on my new 2017 SUV that's a $46,000.00 ride. It's $1,545.00 every six months. Highest damn rates in the nation. 60 miles south, and them damn Hoosiers are paying about the lowest rates in the nation. I bet some of you drunks with 4 or 5 DUIs to your credit don't pay that damn much.

Auto theft, insurance scams, etc are much more common in Michigan. Blame Detroit, I guess. And from what I see from you fools on I-65, speed limits are a mere suggestion AND you all manage to get caught, too. Everyone knows I-65 is a giant speed trap...but Michigan drivers.

You must have meant I-69. Michigan's is high due to this dumbass no-fault insurance. On top of that, everybody is required to carry insurance on getting hurt, and it covers people for a lifetime. Individual areas like Detroit are obviously more expensive. I would drive the shittiest vehicle I could find if I lived there. Something like a Ford Pinto.

Congratulations! That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life.

P.S. Learn how to spell ridiculous. Use an apostrophe in "it's" since it is a contraction.

Michigan PIP. No fault insurance you are right Florida used to have similar laws.

Cuntry:
Speaking of contractions. Didn't you experience them 5 years ago from Greed seed, after your transformation surgery? (Cherry'd)

How is the little one doing in kindergarten? I just remembered that you are not permitted near young children centers. You get too touchy with them.

Nope. I don't know if it is people going south for vacation or just running drugs, but I always see a lot of Michigan tags on I-65 in southern Indiana. And they are always speeding.....and pulled over. State Police down here are dicks about speeding.
I don't recall personally driving I-65 in Southern Indiana. I make a handful of trips every month down to Indianapolis, but that's I-69 wire to wire, except for a brief time on I-94. I can recall seeing a bunch of unmarked Mustangs manned by troopers over the years, and assume they still do that in Indiana. I never venture more than 5 over the limit, especially when I have a 12 pack riding shotgun.

Yep. Unmarked Mustang GT's (and one Shelby GT500, a goddamn 540 hp police car lol), unmarked pickups, and here's the really sneaky one: pickups marked as INDOT trucks. I set my cruise right on the limit.

Why not help them. Cut out giving money to private citizens in foreign countries. When we fight another country we go in and fix their country. THAT SHOULD BE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. Take care of americans. We talk more about non americans.
