I disagree. Bush I was screwed as soon as the race centered on economic issues and he had TWO people to hammer him on that. Perot may have pulled equally from both, but his inclusion in the debates gave Bush no where to run to.

And Bill Clinton is a likeable son of a bitch. I admire Bush but he is not charasmatic. I got to attend rallies for both that year, and damn Bill Clinton can work a crowd.

i agree completely with what you said. the indictment did "tank" Bush but would not have mattered in the outcome of the election. i'm just pointing out today's hypocrisy of crying "Hatch Act". just like a few weeks ago's hypocrisy crying about Trump not de facto accepting the results of the election after Gore in 2000...
