That's easy to say for a guy who didn't have his family's ability to prosper, even at an average level, prohibited by the government.

What is the easiest way to gain generational wealth? Property ownership. What happens when the government makes it illegal for one group to own property and when banks refuse to loan money to that group to buy property? That group doesn't have the ability to generate generational wealth.
You realize that redlining was just made illegal about 50 years ago, right? Assuming you knew that, you should be able to add 1+1 and realize that means just 1.5 generations ago, blacks had a very challenging time owning property in many areas. As a result, today's generation will not inherit any generational wealth . . . and the same for generations prior.
