RepresentUS

I HAVE HEARD OF THEM ONCE OR TWICE - NOT FAMILIAR AT ALL WITH THEM
BUT

THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT - THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS DESTROYING THE U.S. SYSTEM OF GOVT.
WHEN WE HAVE A FOREIGN OWNED NEWS ORGANIZATION CALLING THE SHOTS IN THE W.H. & U.S. SENATE
& SUPREME COURT (THANK GOODNESS WE WRESTLED THE H. O. REPS AWAY FROM THEM OR WE WOULD
BE TOTALLY DOWN THE TOILET) A FOREIGN DICTATOR DICTATING OUR FOREIGN POLICY, COMPLETELY OWNING
THE "PRESIDENT" AND A GOOD PART OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WE HAVE A LARGE PROBLEM.

ONLY SOLUTION IS TO DO WHAT WE DID BACK IN '92 - TURN ALL THE LEVERS OF GOVT OVER TO THE DEMOCRATIC
PARTY AND LET THEM GET OUR COUNTRY STRAIGHTENED OUT AGAIN, WHILE WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE.

VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC IN '20

If you believe that the corruption and influence of money through lobbying is endemic to the Republican Party only, you’re beyond convincing. We’ve effectively become an oligarchy where legislative agendas across state governments and in DC are being bought and paid for by special interests funded by corporations and billionaires...on both sides. I’m on record for not liking Trump, but the reason I didn’t vote for HRC is she is just as bought and paid for by special interests as anyone else. We can pretend this is a partisan issue but it’s not. There’s a reason young voters are registering independent in record numbers.

It’s only a matter of time before the right wingers come on this thread and trash the video because it’s being presented by some “Hollywood, wacko liberal,” but there’s some great points being raised.

That being said, what I most take out of the presentation is that I enjoyed it just as much with the sound off.

Agree with everything GK says - especially the part about that video being as enjoyable with the sound off.

The problems won't be fix until we get back to seeing each other as Americans instead of Liberals and Conservatives.

One of the things that popped for me was 42% of registered voters are registered as independent. In other words, more US citizens prefer NOT to identify with either political party than are currently registered as Democrat or Republican.

That is no the Jennifer Lawrence photos or video I am thinking of.

Should someone tell them that America has never been a democracy and was not set up to be one?

Do liberals even take any U.S. history classes during their prolonged educational journeys?

Technically the US shares qualities of both.

None of the semantics are as important as the point being made. But nice job of making a point that has absolutely nothing to do with the argument. You’ve simply taken a shot and have offered absolutynothing to address the points being made.

Not a single place in the video did she imply that a direct vote from the populace makes decisions in our country. In fact, the points and solutions suggested implied that she understands the system quite well.

I’ll resist my instinct to say that pointing to some semantics in the argument in order to take the shot that I predicted is conservative in nature, but then that would be lowering myself to your level of argument. What next...she sucked in Hunger Games?

Bottom line...our country was never intended to be controlled by special interest and the large sums of money that fund them. That should be something both sides agree with.

But, the fact is we are a representative Republic.

unfortunately GK forgets to mention that he too is a supporter, member and contributor to one or more of these corrupting special interests...……….
