A positive note. Here in Columbus, I wear Marshall gear all the time. Every, I mean every time, someone stops to talk about us. Yesterday it was about how we should have gotten a bigger bowl. Today a young man said he saw the movie last night for the first time and we talked for a while about our history.

I travel a lot for work (primarily in the south) .I try to wear something pertaining to Marshall and often have people stop me or simply "Go Herd!"

People respect our history and success.. ! Let's thank the seniors that are leaving and how they have brought us back.

Go Herd and Happy New Year!

BG this is so true... I live in Atlanta and was driving up to Charlotte for the holidays on the 23rd, so seeing how it was game day I wore my Marshall shirt... We stopped for gas and lunch at the Clemson exit off of I-85... As soon as I got out of my car I heard "Go Herd"... It was an older guy decked out in Clemson attire.. He said "heck of team you guys got this year.. I wish we could play you guys again to settle the score"... recalling the time Marshall won in Death Valley...

Same thing here all in one week in suburban Philadelphia, NYC, and Richmond, VA. In Richmond a young man stopped me and asked if my Marshall jacket was "THE Marshall University?" Probably about 12-13 years of age. I told him yes, we talked about the Young Thundering Herd, and he told me "that's where I want to go to school."

In Times Square, someone yelled "We Are...." at me. When I answered, about three Penn State fans there for their bowl game looked at me, then the jacket, then smiled and one said, "great year."

Never, ever gets old. Have a Happy New Year, everyone.

I was in a cancer center picking up mu wife. There were two younger gals sitting across from her. Suddenly my wife pointed at them and said Go Herd! She had heard them talking about the movie. I started chatting with them about it and answering questions. We drove back from Denver yesterday and a clerk at a gas station gives me a Go Herd> He remembered us playing at K State.

In the toxic sea of scarlet and gray, you definitely stand out in Cbus area when you wear Marshall gear. Someone will always say "Go Herd!" Or "We are..." When I am out and about wearing the kelly green.

There are a ton of MU people in Columbus. Probably more Herd alumni in Columbus than any other city that size or larger in the US.

Henry Hammond and I were at a Cracker Barrel in GA on the way to the bowl. A woman with a large young family (her husband was station at The Pentagon) asked if she could have the games off our table. She noted our gear and I said we were on our way to Boca to see Marshall play. Her son about nine went crazy and said that was his favorite team. He came over and sat with us and was all agog as we talked about the program, crash, etc.

The wife and I took the kids to the Columbus Zoo last month. It was surprising how many people there asked about Marshall. We even ran into the owner of the Pullman Square Max & Ermas. Very nice guy, said he loved Huntington.

That's Dave Denti, I was on the phone with him today. Used to do business with him, still do a little. He's a good guy, has 4 Max & Ermas.

I was at the post office yesterday in my kelly green jacket when leaving the guy says with a smile, "Go Herd" live south of Cbus
