I use the headphones almost exclusively for working out on the beach. I run/walk anywhere from 6-12 miles on the sand per day, and during the times I walk, I usually take the headphones off. With just the ear buds, they would be far too easy for me to lose each day. I've never taken to ear buds well, as they never tend to fit comfortably on my ear canals and usually jostle too much when I run.
I found a fairly decent pair of headphones online I use as backups, but they aren't comfortable after having them on for more than an hour. Luckily, I found some really, really good ones for $70 at best buy. They are made by modal (I believe a best buy owned brand, like the TVs they make that I like) but seem to always be out-of-stock at all best buy stores. When I finally found some in-stock, I bought two of them, and they've been perfect for me.
But, if you can find any boardshorts that aren't obnoxious looking and aren't so short that they would allow my testicles to come out of the bottom, please let me know.
Even though there are dozens of bathing suit stores within just a few miles from me, it's very hard to find a longer pair of good looking boardshorts. I usually end up driving 90 minutes to Ron-Jon's mammoth, flagship store and their big competitor next store to just be able to find one or two pair that I can live with.
