Rolling blackouts

Imagine driving your EV around and around the town looking for power so you can plug in.

Blackouts wouldn’t be an issue if enough electricity was being put into the grid.

it’s not a “grid” problem. It’s an electric production problem.

Texas’ power grid relies on several different forms of electricity generation: natural gas, coal, nuclear power, wind power and solar energy. In February 2021, yes the grid failed when all sources of electricity struggled in the extreme winter weather. This would not have happened if they only used coal IMO

Really appreciate being in your alls thoughts guys. I’m sure none of you are cheering for us to fail.

They should build a charging station for the power plants.
Zing! You got us there!

Anyway, I guess enough people turned their thermostat slightly up thanks to the dystopian hellscape text alert that went out and the lights stayed on. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

Nuclear, natural gas and coal are all reliable. The other two, not so much

Big surplus, high quality of life, low pollution per capita, but they ask us to reduce our AC for a couple hours and we’re the titanic.

Maybe don’t believe everything you see on Fox News. We’re doing fine.

Yes, keep it out there, and build a wall around it. I don't want people shitting on the sidewalk where I reside. Not exactly what I would call high quality life, at least not where I come from.
Every time I see photos of large American cities, I think about those science fiction films where people live like animals in a post apocalyptic world.

Jacksonville, FL is run by liberal democrats? Charleston, WV is run by liberal democrats (note - the GOP has controlled the city council and mayor office for most of the past 20 years)?
Are those two cities on fire from constant rioting? homeless and antifa taking over downtown city blocks? I know they have crime and homeless people within the cities, but I doubt the homeless and BLM are in charge of the cities.

Probably not. Neither is the liberal city I live in. 10 years I haven’t seen a single riot, protest that extended past a sidewalk (and most of those were recall efforts), or anything on fire besides wildfires. For every “liberal hellhole” you want to bring up there’s a dozen places without those problems.

The main problem with homeless and what you see on sidewalks of American cities is due to the fact that neither party has offered a good way to take care of the mentally ill..most of those homeless you see on streets are mentally ill. What do we need to do to take care of this problem instead of always bashing them.

(Note - The GOP has controlled the Mayor's office in Charleston for abt 20 of the past 22 years .... as well as City Council).
What’s the history of the governors office, as well as congressional reps and senators? Which party has dominated over the past say 50 years?
