Never mind the source, but it's a sad day for Thanksgiving meal side dish inventor Dorcas Reilly. Back in 1955, this woman invented what came to be known as the Green Bean Casserole.

I'm salivating right now, just thinking about a big scoop of this dish, positioned next to my mashed potatoes/gravy. That, added to taking bites of the not-so-accidental partial mixing of the 2 dishes, just before I destroy my 10th deviled egg half...man I can't wait till Thanksgiving.

All beans are disgusting. Green beans are the absolute worst. Green bean casserole is like taking something completely awful and making it even more awful.

Good old half runners with some taters with some bacon cooked in it is one of the finest dishes known to man.

If you have to make something (beans) taste like something else (pork and onions) in order to make it edible, it's not worth eating.

Whose been cooking your beans?!?! They don’t taste like bacon it adds flavor, kind of like adding red wine to sauces or beer to chili
