At Marshall, we play for 7-4 and third in our division.
Okay, I need this explained.
So last year was described to us a fluke, an aberration. Given that, a turnaround shouldn't even be viewed as a turnaround, but rather a foregone conclusion. It's why no substantive changes were needed, we just had to go back to being who we are.
Now, however, we are to view it as a major accomplishment, something to be proud of, a major achievement by the staff and the players? I mean yeah, playing the 127th strongest schedule in the country we have rebounded with our offense improving from only the 114th best in the country all the way up to the 96th best in the country. I mean how can we not be impressed with putting it to Charlotte 14-3 only a year after that powerhouse came to the Joan and beat us down.
And what's with the comment from Yurachek that it's really hard to show up each week and be the best you can be? That's not something I would ever expect to hear from him.

Shocking water carrying reporter who instead of being a journalist to find out where the disconnect between Herd fans and the football program writes a piece telling Herd fans what pieces of crap they are. That’s a sure fire way to draw a huge crowd Saturday.

Becoming bowl eligible doesnt mean as much when over 60% of fbs teams go to a bowl. We have benefited from this at times but i don't think anyone can honestly say a team with a losing record needs to be in a bowl game. Speaking of teams with losing records I didn't see him mention how many teams we have beat with a winning record. I guess there are reasons people agree to disagree on certain subjects and this is one one of those things. I agree we need to support theteam andseniorsbut our OC needs to go. Maybe put bags over your head while we are on offense? Lmao idk and i am just joking about the bags over heads by the way. Our seniors do deserve to be cheered on one last time at home though.
Why does this not surprise me that josh posted this link....... get over it josh you have been wrong about this coaching staff and their game plan all season.... you’ve done nothing but argued about how we just needed time and that our coaches are fine and for all us fan to quit talking bad about them, and yet more and more people are calling to doc to fire legg... quit trying to act like we are wrong when you know we are right.......

Just my opinion, but the Herd should entertain ridding itself of ex-WVU players/coaches, as well as hack reporters, and fans whose favorite team is actually named Duke.

Well, considering I’ve been a Duke fan (1989) longer than I’ve been a Marshall fan or even knew they existed for that matter.
With that said, I’d take the Herd over the Blue Devils any day if they went head to head.
Just messing with you Josh. I couldn't care less if most herd fans rooted for a 2nd team. I'e done so all of my life, as I'm able to separate big boy ball from mid major ball. I just don't like duke. With all that said, I do believe the herd needs a new football coaching staff. I'm okay with Hambone, as he's done some good things, but I won't be okay with him if he doesn't make at least a few changes.
To prove what? That you buy tickets and get a free field pass so your opinions matter more and then that makes you right about the coaching staff being ok and all these losses are the players fault like you’ve said before.?????????????

He's exactly right. It's expected that you show up and TRY your best everyday. It's nearly impossible to BE your best everyday, but it's that type of consistency that you're always striving for. Those that get closer to this standard will have a better chance of success.
Nobody likes the teams that win titles frequently, unless of course, you're a fan of said team.
I will agree with Smock that this conference is improving. It isn't awesome yet, but better than some think. However, we still shouldn't have lost to the UTSA 9-7 on Saturday. Yes they have a solid defense. No they are not better than NC State on defense.Why could we score 20 on them? If we can move the ball against a team with NFL caliber front 7 talent we should be able to put up at least 14 on a bad day against anyone in C-USA. There are problems when we can only score 7 on them but yet Texas State a team with 2 wins put up 44. We can only put up 14 on UNCC a team with 1 win but almost everyone else they played put up plenty. This is year two of an inept offense and it is no longer excusable. Maybe Doc can demote Bill and keep him on staff, that way they can still go eat breakfast together at McDonalds and talk about the old days and the old ways of playing Nelan ball. He cut Rippon loose and our defense improved. Now we need to look at doing the same on offense.
At the end of the day I don’t believe it matters one bit what a journalists thinks success for Marshall Football is. What does matter is what the thousands of members of the fan base thinks. I think they are speaking Very loudly by the lack of tickets sold and empty seats at the games that they are not satisfied and expect better.
It's funny, the fans can't win. We are asked to give more, buy more tickets, donate more and don't question anything. But the AD is free to tweet crap about the fans, the local media like Smock and Grant Traylor can take pot shots at the fans. It's hilarious. Our fan base may be the most unappreciated in all of college sports.

and with the entire team back to make a run next year. Everyone is frustrated with last season but why the anger with a team that has shown improved play and a bowl team.
When everyone is healthy this team has a chance to be real good.

The big thing in college football now days seems to be "Body of Work." Well, Hollidays body of work is pretty garbage based on these facts.

Fans impressions is ALL that matters. The attendance is down and continues to dwindle. So regardless of what he thinks fans have the biggest say.
Do you actually root for Duke in football? The only time I manage to barely root for Indiana in football is against Michigan and Ohio State, because we all hate those programs (and both entire states, for that matter). I'm no fan of Indiana football. Indiana football might have 20k fans. Any extra in attendence are there to drink or see the other team.

Kinda funny...but at my expense. My son reads Herd Nation...and he questions why I even check in & comment. Like most children, he loves his Dad [like your kids adore you] and it hurts.....especially when His Mom was brought into the conversations last year.
