Strong chess move by TRUMP. Bought three weeks time to place the pressure on Chuck & Nancy. If they cannot come up with something reasonable with this joint panel over the coming weeks, then he'll do it on his own, which is obviously bad precedent. I don't think anybody wants to see that occur, but it's costing us a fortune to process all of these people attempting to enter the country. Certainly, a border wall would drastically reduce that number, and act as a deterrent. Wall, plus technology, plus more human resources would end up saving us dough long-term, thus the 'Mexico will pay for it' logic.

not to derail thread, but, no shit, i was looking up LED light bulbs on amazon. i'm sucking hind-tit on converting everything in the house over to LED so been thinking of ordering around 70 bulbs and do some replacing. couldn't believe i actually had that many until counting. anyhoo, has anybody noticed switch over to LED's has saved them that much on their utility bill?
I have so much shit running in my house, I could never be able to tell if I'm saving a few cents on a damn lightbulb. Did you know you could save 15% or more by switching to Geico?
Yup, and I have also purchased in bulk from Amazon. Great deals. Quality seems ok so far. Now when I am about to pull out of the driveway and notice lights still on upstairs, I'm like meh, the cost of operation isn't worth going back inside to turn them off.
I'm not about to have Alexa, Google Home or any of that stuff spying on me. Next thing you know, I'll have pics of me pullin' my pud on the innerwebs.

What cracks me up is the fact that Democrats act like the Dems aren’t just as guilty in this as Trump is. They are both political hacks groveling to their base rather than giving a flying fvck about the country or the people in it. This shut down was 100% about politics. People missed paychecks etc but we don’t care if we get some votes from our lunatic bases then we will not budge.

I wouldn't celebrate one way or the other just yet. Trump said this opens up the Govt for 21 days. If the Democrats refuse to work with him he said, as I understand it, he will declare a national emergency and build the wall anyway. Now if he doesn't follow through with that pledge then I would agree he folded on this one.
I seriously doubt he's going to get much, if anything, for his wall from the dems. If he wants to declare a national emergency, fine, but look for it to be held up in courts for longer than he's in office.

Appears Raoul and I.U. blinked often, as Michigan humiliated them on their home floor tonight. I was disappointed when Michigan let them score their first basket with 10 minutes to go in the first half. Was hoping for a shutout.
If he declares a NE to build his wall and it's challenged by the courts it goes straight to the Supreme Court to be decided. There won't be any dragging this out.
