Mendelson got his start coaching for 2 seasons as the Offensive Line Graduate Assistant at Marshall University. While at Marshall, he assisted with the coaching of two All-Conference performers in Michael Selby and Sebastian Johansson. During the 2015 campaign, Marshall would defeat UCONN in the St. Petersburg Bowl, finishing the year with their 3rd consecutive 10-win season.
The Dublin, Ohio native was a three-year letterman as an Offensive Lineman at Marshall, Mendelson played in 33 games with 12 career starts, starting his senior season at Left tackle on an Offensive Line that helped lead ‘The Herd’ to a Conference USA championship and a victory in the Boca Raton Bowl. Mendelson was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team and was also named the Marshall University Scholar-Athlete of the year (2014).
Mendelson earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Marshall University in 2013, and his Master’s in Business Administration from Marshall in 2015. He was a 2010 graduate of Dublin Jerome High School.
