That's a hell of a fall - maybe he just liked their color scheme?
Maybe he just can't wait to play in ODU's awesome and colossal new football palace!!
I was just responding to the note above implying my initial post was racist in some way.
Why it wouldn't be a surprise move for Slade:
ODU Head Coach, Ricky Rahne, was the OC at Penn State. ODU's OC/QB coach, Kirk Campbell, was an offensive analyst at Penn State. Kevin Smith helped with the DL at Penn State and is now the Special Teams' Coordinator/LB's coach. Mark Dupuis is ODU's WR coach after spending a few years as a GA at Penn State. Kevin Reihner was a grad transfer to Penn State for a year and is now OL coach at ODU. Deege Jr. is the head Strength Coach at ODU - he is the son of Dwight Gault, PSU head Strength Coach and spent several years as an assistant at Penn State.
Slade would be a hell of a pick up for ODU. Penn State had a deep stable of RBs last season and did backfield-by-committee. There aren't a lot of carries to be had there.
