1. You want industry and polymer research and your goal is to build a research center adjacent to Marshall, you gotta have ACCESS! How do you get money to come? AIRPORT, and one that can accommodate larger planes. With Gov JJ in office he should set up a state supported subsidy to get DIRECT flights daily from Atlanta. Why ignorant eerbillys? Because Atlanta is the worlds busiest airport, and with Delta Southwest and Jet Blue, along with a complete international hub unmatched in the USA , 2 to 3 direct flights a day roundtrip will allow the money you want access. Along with the new Doubletree , you know have a 3 star hotel to allow them to stay. ( oh and not to mention I now can get to see my favorite teams play with a direct flight, as will many other alums)
2. Access part deaux! With Gov JJ , a feasibility study to allow 1to 2 interstate branches to deliver cars directly into Marshall and Huntington. In fact one could use West Huntington and then East Huntington and use immanent domain and likewise buy many of the delapidated homes to build access. 1 years planning, 1years purchase, 2years to build.
3. Housing...for upwardly mobile college educated couples. With the building of a waterfront park and possible baseball stadium, it would be good to engage high level talks with builders on building upper level townhomes and single unit homes IN the city close to those areas, to encourage a robust living area of work home play. Low cost loans through federal and state subsidies could help with the financing.
4. SECURITY - yes someone posted City of Huntington police aren't good. I say, police can only do so much. However I do feel funding for police isn't good. That said, it would behoove Huntington to take some of that money and build MINI-posts. Ala one at Ritter, one in high crime areas and have radio, restroom, armor, weaponry and even drone surveillance from time to time. People won't come and stay unless safety can be assured.
5. Much like the 4th ave project , building projects to spruce up core critical areas of Huntington should begin. Since the state has paid for an IPF, a Colisuem , a Stadium, a Runway, on and on and on. Gov JJ should begin to divert those monies to be used for the hardworking people who paid them, not for people getting tons of B12 monies already and living like fat cats while the rest of the working class pays out their arse for the DUI defense attorneys.

Yes I'm sure Gov JJ will lead us all to the promise land. It's almost biblical in a sense....following Gov JJ just like Moses. Government is the answer to a better life.....just ask the Indians. I'm told a small tribe of Shawnee have been taking shelter under one of JJ's sport coats. It's good news for Boeing.....third shift at Renton has been called back, to produce all those jets needed to carry the multitudes to WV.

3million can't do a whole lot, that's true. But with the Governors support Huntington is poised for a renaissance. Gov JJ has to figure out a way to help the HPD stop the flow of heroin from Detroit. But what I see is a community ready to try and dig itself out. I'm hopeful.

Honestly it's not a bad little city, it just needs some money and some access.

You're a half century late. Most of this ground was plowed during the Eisenhower administration, the rest before the bi-centennial.

So you're ready to just quit? Give in to the status quo. Eerbilly logic. Tax WV, pay for our runway, our IPF, our Colisuem, our Stadium, while we drink like fat cats fromBig 12 monies and expect the state public to be appreciating the food stamps you've left them?

Or do you think trying to break the mold that landed WV 50 out of 5O should be examined?

Might it be okay to ask the eerbillys do you think you've been given enough ? Do you think the entire poverty stricken state should be okay with you refusing to do anything that threatens your perceived power while many could beniift , no, 1000s could benifit from an yearly in state series between Marshall and Eerbilly U?

1... you gotta have ACCESS! How do you get money to come? AIRPORT, and one that can accommodate larger planes.

The airport has the longest runway in the state, in fact there is no plane it cannot handle other than a 747 or A-380, which fly to about 5 airports in the whole country. I know you have your panties in a wad because, as always the One Party Government, expanded the 'hole's airport, but even after that expansion, it is still grossly behind HTS.

The issue is not runway length. It is demand. If there was demand, the airlines will bring in larger planes. They will bring in whatever planes to whatever places there is demand.

Demand is what the regional airport was about. Combining the demands of CRW and HTS together in Putnam County, together will closing Beckley, Parkersburg and probably Clarksburg. More and larger planes to more places. The One Party Government, under Kent "King" Carper, the political boss of Kanawha County, killed it.

2. to allow 1to 2 interstate branches to deliver cars directly into Marshall and Huntington. In fact one could use

Wow, downtown access. Never heard that one before, not. Fact is Huntington made it choice, under the One Party Government, made its choice 60 years ago and currently it is building a road from nowhere (Logan) to further out in nowhere (Man), a "bypass" of already bypassed Beckley and Morganhole, and a boondoggle project in Boone County to allow insiders to claim a strip mine is a "industrial park" and thus avoid reclaiming it.

3. Housing...for upwardly mobile college educated couples. With the building of a waterfront park and possible baseball stadium, it would be good to engage high level talks with builders on building upper level townhomes and single unit homes IN the city close to those areas, to encourage a robust living area of work home play. Tax and spend, tax and spend. How about this? You live where you want and I live where I want and the government treats us both the same, not using taxes to distort the Market.

Fact is, for nearly 80 years, we have learned that normal people want to live around other normal people. That means suburbs, where the nightcrawlers are kept out.

4. City of Huntington police aren't good. I say, police can only do so much.
People won't come and stay unless safety can be assured.

First, of course, we, be we Huntington, West Virginia, or the USA, don't really have a "crime problem" or a "drug problem" or, for that matter, an "immigration problem". We have a welfare problem. With work optional, a certain %age will devote their miserable lives to drug addled petty crime. End the subsidy, end the problem.

But second, and more importantly, your #3 contradicts #4. Most people don't want to live around criminals. Whether they are allowed to roam free or are (for now) kept down by over-policing. Nah, just move to the suburbs, where the problem does not exist in the first place.

5. Much like the 4th ave project , building projects to spruce up core critical areas of Huntington should begin. Since the state has paid for an IPF, a Colisuem , a Stadium, a Runway, on and on and on.

Dude, get over it. Is Morganhole, like any college town, military base town, government town, an artificial economy? A place that exists because taxpayers subsidize government employees to live there? Yes, it is covered in ECON class on about the 5th day. That cannot be helped.

So the answer is to subsidize everybody? Collect underpants, ???, profit. No. SOMEBODY has to actually W O R K. Somebody has to actually P A Y those taxes.

If you want a better Huntington, or a better West Virginia, you DESTROY the anti-job creator laws passed for over 80 years of One Party Government. And then watch the magic in investment capitalism build a paradise.

So you are ready to just quit

Quit? We have just started. If you JJ-god would get out of the way, we could have things fixed in short order.

You make the rookie mistake of conflating good intensions and good results. Does you JJ-god, like your Byrd-god, or any other representative of the One Party Government really mean to harm? No, of course not. It is just that what they, and you, prescribe is not the answer. It is the problem. About 1960 or so, they started feeding us poison. The Huntington, and the West Virginia, you see today is the result. You created the false dichotomy of drinking more poison or "quitting". No. The answer is to stop drinking the poison and start trying NEW ideas that have actually worked in the parts of the country that actually do work. Low taxes, right to work, fair courts, less government, less regulations, more freedom.

But keep worshiping you JJ-god. He is not like all the others for 3 generations. He is different.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
