Has the athletic department released any information regarding tailgating on university property and the COVID-19 guidelines? Wondering how social distancing will be enforced - or not, if any games are played.

Thank you Coach Stowers. I agree that they probably have a plan but I feel they should be making that public now for fans to know what to expect and prepare.
wouldn't 50% capacity be just a little shy of what an average game day crowd currently is? I know the numbers they announce, but I'm not sure they have actually too many more than 50% capacity at most games.I thought sure I read months ago there would be no tailgating and limited access to the stadium. Hamrick had said he hoped to have 50% capacity but may be limited to 33%
A lot of the folks I normally go to games with have already said they're sitting out this year no matter what happens.
We can easily accommodate 18K or so. Some will have to spread out and sit in the end zone bleachers and such, but if they really want Herd football, they'll do it.
My guess is that IF Marshall closes down tailgating that the city will not allow it eitherRemember that a large amount of parking is privately owned. The decision is, unlike most places, not really up to MU, but to the land owners and the city.
That's pretty harsh.That's pretty pathetic.
Most home crowds I've seen in recent years seem to hover around 17k actual butts, and my guess is we'll see somewhere around half that at best. A lot of the folks I normally go to games with have already said they're sitting out this year no matter what happens.
I can see that if they think like you or listen to you much.
No Josh that is not pretty pathetic. It is actually pretty safe.
Brother I've been out and about in this mess since day 1. I've been in the office every day, I've had client meetings, I've done deliveries, my kids have been at a daycare since mid-June, my wife has been at her work every day too, I promise you: I am 100% in the mud on this. Would I do it different if I had the option? I don't really know for sure, but what I do know is that it's not my right to tell other people they don't have the right to be afraid.
I'm telling you guys that annoying "reality" shit you don't want to hear, and you're getting all huffy with me, which is totally to be expected. It's been endemic in this pandemic (goddamn I am a maestro with words), that anybody who talks about the unvarnished reality of our situation instantly becomes a stand-in for the wet market butcher in Wuhan that started this whole mess.
I'm okay to play that role, if it means I'm beating back the bullshit reasoning that distills the issue down to a comfort-inducing percentage (99% survive!) and totally ignores that real human beings, with families and children and people who care about them are dying from this. I don't GAF about college football.
Never thought I would see as many people in this country act that way. Cower in fear.Sounds like you should stay home more and keep family at home safe. Teach them to cower in fear. No one is forcing you to go anywhere or attend anything.
It appears to me the Dr. Fauci has come to like the limelight too much. Seems like every day he is making a statement that casts doubt on society and schools opening up. He has tried to stay non-political, but the media attention may be causing him to say what they want him to say. Probably a good guy basically and certainly has the credentials, but the media jumps on anything he says as gospel.
What are you talking about?
The reason Fauci is on TV more often is because Trump's administration continued to limit his pressers.
At a time when someone needed to be heard, he wasn't.
He's also been the most consistent person during this entire pandemic...sorry if he says things you don't like and sorry if he says things will continue to be bad if you don't follow simple guidelines.
He's a doctor, not a politician.
As far as networks swaying him to say what they want him to, blame Trump for not allowing him to speak at the WH, where he isn't in a network studio and the press has to actually ask pertinent questions in front of everyone with the whole nation watching.
