Donald Trump said Monday that Japan's SoftBank has agreed to invest $50 billion in the U.S., aiming to create 50,000 jobs.

He announced the deal after meeting with SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, a Japanese billionaire and technology investor, at Trump Tower in New York. On Twitter, Trump claimed that Son said he "would never do this" if Trump had not won the presidential election.

The $50 billion will come from a previously announced $100 billion international investment fund set up with Saudi Arabia, according to Dow Jones.

To be fair, it doesn't say they were going to invest $100B here, but that they were going to invest that internationally. The argument could be that Trump got half of that for the US, when we might not have gotten any of it.

This makes sense. As I have said on here for years. Money goes where it can get a return. It will go where it has the potential to grow the fastest....period. Trumps tax plan alone opens the door for higher returns on investment. Can you imagine the $$$ that would come here to be put to work if the regulatory bureaucracies were under control?

And you guys are ok that a majority of this is Saudi Arabian money? I'm not sure that's who we want investing 50 billion into the United States.

Ignore it's good enough for Hillary Clinton it's good enough for us peasants
That's a jackass statement. It should not be acceptable for Hillary or America. Saudis are one of our greatest enemies and the single largest funder of Islamic terrrorism. You should demand more of our domestic dealings.

In other words......its billions coming back that we have already given them (when buying oil).

Bullshit. Would you rather they invest in Russia? Iran? Other failed socialist Utopias throughout Europe?

They won't right now because the American economy is the most investible in the world. They have very specific assets they have in mind here. I think it is a real problem we ever accept investments of ownership from terrorist countries.

What are they going to do, barge in and start sacrificing goats all night next door to where I live? Hell, they already did that. Where did they get money anyway? All they got's sand and oil. Damn, guess I paid them to drive my gas guzzler. Well, it's worth it.

Heated seats. That's where it's at for a freezin' bony ass.

you are not making sense. There really isn't a problem. Why not take the money back we've essentially been paying them for decades?

And we can always nationalize the assets like they did to US oil companies. Wouldn't that be a hoot.
