Nice numbers, but the defensive stats were padded by Navy and NCCU.
Offensive stats look great but are completely negated by the #of turnovers.

117th in rush defense
121st in turnover margin
108th in first down defense
107th in penalties per game
105th in penalty yards per game
127th in time of possession.
It’s amazing we can cause so many negative plays and still be 108th in first down defense. Tells me we are an all or nothing defense, get a negative play or give up a big play.

The defense is just really bad. Other than the secondary, it looks like the talent is there to be a good defense. Then, unless I’m wrong, it’s a coaching problem.

Pokey would argue with me year after year. He claimed that ToP had no impact on the performance of a defense.
I am a big fan of having an uptempo component of the offense, but you won’t be successful running it for every possession.
