A better program than the Herd. The reality is that Marshall has never gotten past the second round and the peacocks are heading to the elite 8.

You think? That's stating the obvious. They've won 10 games in a row and the last three were Kentucky, Murray State and Purdue. New York and New Jersey players. They ain't scared.
Well I think they’re the next Gonzaga

Amen to the comment about inner city basketball. It is a tougher brand of ball and the kids have to be quick and fearless to be successful there. Looking at Arkansas, Houston, Miami, and Saint Peters, final 8 teams, most of their players probably come from urban areas. Dan got Kinsey from Columbus, but he is the only one that comes to mind.

Next year some team from the middle of nowhere will make a run and you'll be like, "those corn fed kids from the country are a totally different breed."
It honestly comes down to a great X's and O's coach who can not only motivate but assign his team to take advantage of everything they can.

The OP is talking about a different peters than what you're thinking about.

Maybe the transfer portal will allow the whole Saint Peters team plus the coach to transfer to Marshall..

Anyway, going to be some good games on today. Obviously pulling for the U and St. Pete… going to be a tough one for SP, but every game they’ve been outmatched….

St Peters was a 2 seed in their own conference(6 conference losses) tourney and then got on a roll. Wondering what Sam thinks about that? It honestly goes to show that most of these conferences deserve at least 2 bids.

I think there should be a three team cap, per conference. It allows the smaller schools, to make a run and invoke real March madness. Look at what St Pete has done to the tournament. It’s great when seeds lower than 6 advance. Davidson, Florida Gulf coast and they’re dunk city, Marshall ;)

Thought over the last 7 or 8 years that we've gotten several "urban" players at Marshall. You know, from places like Outer Slovenia, Inner Slovakia, Absurdministan, etc., etc.!

And Dan always tells us they are NBA caliber.

Let us compare the last 5 season’s. St Peters 14-18, 10-22, 18-12, 14-11, 22-12, in a conference rated 20th per sagarin. Marshall 25-11, 23-14, 17-15, 15-7, and 12-21 in a conference ranked 12th.

It doesn’t matter the stats tell everything.

Past records won't buy you a bubble gum. Future is only thing that counts. Danny better shape up and start coaching (although I think HS is all he knows) or step aside.
