Anyone heard anything about another staff member possibly leaving?

What else would you want them to do?? Throw deep??
Actually play calling was slightly better at times last game.. a lot of dropped balls and bad passes.. but coaching is going to have to get more creative if they want to continue a pounding run game… get better at fakes and misdirections, find a short TE pass game, check downs to RBs we never see any of this unless it the other team with the ball…

There were a lot of QB runs in the ODU game. We got the QB under center some. We had a lead blocker in the game several times. We even threw the ball over the middle to a TE (open and a horrible pass missed him). Not saying the coaches are great, but it is evident they are trying many of the things we have wished on here that they would try. They are just coaching around so many limitations at this point. Can you imagine how good this team could be right now with an accurate QB? Our running game is pretty much against a loaded box most of the time.

No, im just saying that it will not make a difference. Whether its legg or trickett. Like how some people pronounce tomato, different pronunciation, but the same thing.
You know it begins and ends with the head man. We make a lot about the OC, but Huff has to approve this game plan. He knows what they are running. He could change it up if he wanted. He doesn't want to.

And give him props for that game plan. He had one. And stuck to it till the end. And it worked.

running game is pretty much against a loaded box.....yet we continue to run Laborn up the middle again, and again, and again.

I can agree the last game was better play calling and QB did throw some bad passes.. coaching still needs to not go away so fast from a short pass game, use TE more just because it’s a bad pass doesn’t mean you quit running it.. mix in some heavy misdirection stuff to get a running game going. I wouldn’t care if their was a Trick play or 2 (not a double pass) at least it would so they are actually trying to score a touchdown..

Find a Trick Daddy replacement and NOT Bill Legg…

very glad we won…but no one should be happy with the offense. This is 2 years in a row we seem to be able to move the ball but not get it in the end zone when we have the opportunity. “run up the middle right, run up the middle left” isn’t an “offense”. 89 yds passing is atrocious.

How in the world did ODU beat VT??????

VT is just as bad a team as ODU and Us.

The problem with a run oriented offense (combined with a weak offensive line) is that it's tough to score touchdowns in the red zone, once the field begins to compress. Michigan, with a highly touted run game (and a great offensive line) has similar issues. They've adjusted their play calling recently to throw more passes, or at least counter with positive running plays. I just don't believe the Herd has that luxury.

Field goals can win games against other offensively limited opponents, as seen this past weekend. Unfortunately, you don't typically play against 12 opponents that all have similar woes, which means, when the Herd gets behind, they're typically going to be in a world of hurt.

Yea, and many will state that their QB situation is in a lot "worse" shape than that at MU!! :D
No way. Wells has thrown for 1800+yds and 8 tds and 8 int. Odu qb has thrown for 2000+yds and 14 td and 4 picks. I would take both those qbs over what we currently have.
