Where in the hell were teachers like this when I was in school?

People have been wondering about the Mona Lisa's mysterious smile for centuries. The public fascination with the baffling mugshot grin of Sarah Fowlkes, a married, 27-year-old anatomy teacher from Texas accused of having sex with a 17-year-old male student, might not endure quite as long.
That's because the mystery surrounding the teacher's smile is being wiped away, as her attorney reveals what was really behind his client's perplexing grin:
"You've got a young lady who was arrested on the statement of a 17-year-old kid with no corroborating evidence," her attorney, Jason Nassour, first told KXAN-TV.
"This isn't a guilty person sitting there like they just got caught. When everything's fleshed out, it won't be as it appears," he added.
Fowlkes was charged Monday with engaging in "sexual contact with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of" the male student at Lockhart (Texas) High School, where she taught anatomy and physiology and environmental systems.
She faces up to 20 years in prison for the second-degree felony, and she has already been suspended from her teaching position.
Perhaps all this is why her smiling mugshot images, shot soon after the teacher turned herself in on Monday, went viral on the Internet.
As Yahoo News writes, "The pictures released by the Lockhart Police Department show the attractive blonde with a big grin on her face."
Now we know. Her lawyer believes the law is ultimately on her side.
But a police detective in Texas cautioned that the teacher shouldn't be over-confident about her case, saying this to KXAN:
"Seventeen years old is obviously older, but at the same time it doesn't make anything right," Detective Jesse Bell told the station.
"If the kid is in school, parents trust the school to take care of their kids so it's definitely not right -- that a teacher in a position of power over a student be able to take advantage of a student," he warned.
