Never turn your back on the party. Should have learned from Reagan. No way he gets nomination next time.

when this whole thing goes up in flames, he'll be the one person that stood up against it and be in a pole position for 2020.

never. Won't happen. He is finished. Why? Because Republicans hate Hillary Clinton and he helped her last night.

Bye Bye Ted.

The bernie folks wont make a scene at Philly. It wouldnt matter if Hillary was a child molester, as long as she supports single payer and BLM you are golden with Democrats.

sure thing, boss.

again, if trump pulls off the miracle and wins cruz's political career was over anyway. if trump's candidacy goes up in flames and he's routed in november, cruz will look like the one strong, smart one going into 2020 when the gop will desperate to do whatever they can to FINALLY get the white house back, they'll forgive and forget quite easily.

Nope. They will not. I am telling you right now. He is done for.

and for someone that spends the vast majority of his time whining about the vaginification of america i don't know why you're upset with cruz? he took a stand, instead of just bending over and taking it like you and everyone else in the gop from trump.

When are liberals going to understand that the GOP is no longer the kind of Conservative that Cruz represents? They can't because their ideology is still stuck in the 60's.

When are liberals going to understand that their prediction of Trumps candidacy "imploding" over and over and over again is based on the same kind of "hope" Obummer was selling them. (That's worked out well).

cruz's political positions match, almost identically, the gop party platform from this convention.

Nothing to do with vaganification. Has to do with turning your back on the team and Ted went back against his word to support the nominee.

He is toast.

He literally got booed out of the building. He will be looking for a commentator job before Mike Pence will be.

Doesn't matter. Platforms don't end up voting on policy or new laws. You still believe abortion is going to be over turned or that obamacare is going to be reversed???? LMAO.

Platforms matter tremendously to the party loyalists and activists that usually dominate the primaries. Who the fvck do you think sits on that committee?

Trump loses and this one year anomaly ends...unless you all really plan on running on the "Fvck the Mexicans" slogan every four years. Trump's trade policies are right up the Teamsters alley , you all really going to stick with that?

never said it didn't matter in primaries. That simply doesn't translate to legislation on the national side.

Hell, normally you are one of the usual posters mocking the idea that true conservatives buy into such primary promises (aka platforms based on social issues) and then get left with nothing.

Which supports my overall point that the GOP really isn't that "Conservative".

You are right, I do mock those rubes. But when Republicans were not keeping those social conservative promises at least they were winning the big prize. Times have changed. If you want the White House today you are going to have to accept gay marriage and probably abortion too.

I've always said there is a winning coalition towards the middle. Trump had a great chance to build that if he had toned down the rhetoric (there is a nice way to confront illegal immigration and he certainly stepped off on the wrong foot instead) and not tried to suck up to the religious right. Ted Cruz is such a douche he could have got the vote of every Bible Thumper and still lost to the charismatic Trump.

There's a dissertation waiting to happen on Trump driving general voters to the primary polls. Same for Sanders. In the GOPs case, it is the best thing that could have happened for the party, the social conservatives need marginalized. It is not good for the Dems, it has pushed them left.

Cruz was speaking yesterday and was asked about not endorsing Trump. he went off about Trump going after his wife and father. he must have forgotten about being the one that brought the wives into the battle with Melania the "pinup girl". i hope his political career was worth the sour grapes...

Jeb Bush too...
