Tell me why it is wrong for Trump to build a wall when 65 other nations have one?

Yet Republicans poo on such logic about national health care.

We don't need a wall along the entire border. It's a waste. We do need control of heavily crossed areas, and have a lot of that already. And I am at a loss to figure out how to build a wall in Santa Elena Canyon, which is on my kayaking bucket list.

Amazing right

It's because National Healthcare in these other countries is a disaster. You guys either want to cherry pick a socialist WHO survey or some other obscure source. You flat out ignore the "guarantees of care" in these other countries have created shortages in nursing, reduced research $$, number of high quality facilities and bankrupted their country treasuries despite 50-60% tax rates.

The fact is unless you have considerable wealth (typically higher levels of wealth than the avg American) in these other countries, you'll never get the same care that you would here in the US regardless your income (no matter what the media tells you).

I've said this before. You want the perfect example of a single govt healthcare in the US???? Look no further than the VA. It's a disaster. Medicine controlled by bureaucrats instead of medical providers.

20 years in healthcare I can tell you the issue is an overall lack of "REAL" competition caused by govt regulation that permits/promotes lack of price transparency across the system for products and services that are delivered for care. Additionally a desire for consumers of healthcare who believe they should pay little to nothing for the best.

Amazing how some of you constantly point to the simplest of tasks a govt can do (patching potholes &building bridges and roads) but.....fails to not get bogged down in bureaucracy and red tape.

And yet you think they will be able to manage your heart cath or diabetes medication on demand??? Talk about lacking logic and understanding.

And yet your first article tells you that walls don't work, and answered your "why".
Are you trying to say the whiney riots over him building a wall are because he wants to build a wall you say will not work? Or is there another agenda? If they dont work then why do 65 nations have them. I never trust CNN and one persons opinion on the matter. I guess you think we should do nothing

The article YOU linked says walls do not work. The article YOU linked tells why nations have them. BOTH of YOUR links tell you this. If you are not going to trust both, why bother linking to them?

Yet the VA ranks highly in outcome studies. Could it be better? Absolutely. Personally I think we just shit on our veterans as a matter of some general principle.

Roads are fvcked up because we are cheap bastards. We have maintained roads like women do cars. Indiana's roads got fvcked up because no one had the sense to raise gas taxes (a must with today's more efficient cars) and because the legislature cut so many other taxes they were stealing from the gas tax revenues to shore up the general fund. That is about to stop, our Republicans are raising the gas tax and vehicle registration fees while requiring it all goes to roads. Hurrah.

I manage my diabetes by not being a dumbass. My AIC is now consistently lower than diabetic levels, but I still have bad days...when I eat like a dumbass. I had to wait a month for my second cath, we certainly don't have that on demand now, unless you are actually in the middle of a MI.

I understand the VA system. There outcomes should be high. In many cases they cherry pick the patients they can fix and put others on lists. Local private hospitals don't have such a luxury. You think a bureaucrat wouldn't shit on you if they ran your local hospital?

Just as I said. Govt cant keep roads functioning....but....by God they will keep your arteries open. LMAO.

You had to wait a month. That pretty much is "on demand" when seeing how many of the other single payer systems work around the world.

Not as you said. Government can certainly maintain roads, if we are willing to pay for it to be done. We haven't been, both because people bitch about any tax increase and because politicians have no balls to explain a tax increase...Or they just do that Republican thing where they refuse to fund something and then claim "oh look, government doesn't work."

Look at the money that is spent on education and in many cases it is below par. Would more money really help?

Take out the white trash and ghetto kids and public schools suddenly do well. We have a sub-culture problem. The argument is which came first, poverty or the sub-culture.

poverty levels were much higher when the US was regularly ranked in the top 5 in world education 1950's-1980's.

while i think poverty plays a role, our education system (and need for reform) bears the majority of the fault.

You don't understand Andy. Not govts fault. Just need more tax revenue to make it all better.

I say this as the husband and son of a public school teachers: The only thing that will make it better is competition. And, if that means getting the government out of the education business then so be it. We can't keep running a 1950's model.

I link to them too show that even liberal papers admit that many countries use walls.I don't agree that they serve no useful purpose. So all of the hysteria around the need to shore up our borders is dumb. Get it?
