The days when internet message boards were used to convey breaking information about sports ended somewhere around two-thousand-and-Twitter.

Of course, those are the best. Here is what else we have:

- Football. Our league sucks and we should win every game and even that is no accomplishment and lets fire the coach and the AD and blah, blah, blah.

And anyone who says otherwise gets attacked.

- Bowls. Bowls are stupid and we should be a wall around the stadiums to prevent them from being played and, no, I cannot just change the channel and blah, blah, blah.

And anyone who says otherwise get attacked.

- Basketball. Our coach is a super genius because we got hot in our one bid league's (which, strangely, does not suck, even though a third of it makes no effort at the sport) tournament once, it will happen again and again and going to the state HS tournament is a recruiting trip and blah, blah, blah.

And anyone who says otherwise gets attacked.

- Facilities. We have unlimited resources and "they" (whoever "they" are) always come up with the money, so our AD is an idiot and the IPF and the soccer stadium and the improved basketball travel is no accomplishment and he should be fired and blah, blah, blah.

Why lie? Marshall could have gone 11-1, 10-2, or hell, even 9-3 this year and not had a peep said. But to go 8-4 in the worst conference in the country AND missing the three best teams in the West division crossover games? Yeah, the complaining is understandable.

Our conference champ got curb stomped by a Coastal Carolina team from the Sunbelt that didn’t even qualify for a bowl game if people doubt your statement.
