The White House has basically confirmed that a radio comedian was easily able to get through on a prank phone call to cheeto by pretending to be Senator Bob Menendez. He didn't have any special number. He simply called the White House switchboard (easily found number) and eventually was called back while cheeto was on Air Force One.

The comedian called from a cell phone which is registered in his name. There was no due diligence: no checking of the fake senator's assistant's name; no checking of the number. The radio guy said he didn't even know the party or state the senator belonged to but just played the part.

There is a link in the article below where you can hear the actual calls. One starts at about the 38 minute mark and the other is at about the 1:07 mark. It's baffling how easy it was to get in touch with cheeto. It's baffling how amateur everything is. It's baffling how Kushner basically acted like a secretary.

they would be at least slightly better - NOT horribly worse. this is just the latest
example - this is just the call we know about - how many times have the Russians
chicom have done it and gotten secrets that we don't know about. well, not so much
Russian - trump has no secrets with Russia.

personal cell phone (too inconvenient) staff can't get security clearance and those

Was the Obama security a circus?

No, not sort of like that. As somebody pointed out earlier, Secret Service isn't replaced from administration to administration. Top support staff is. Those people - top support staff and advisors - are. That is who was responsible for allowing a prank caller to so easily - without much of a plan or any idea how to do it - get a return call from the president on a cell phone which is easily traceable.

Amateurs. Circus. And we trust these guys?
