Looking forward to watching the "Ole Miss We're Sorry"s
Is the federal government going to wipe out all tributes to Thomas Jefferson? And while we're at it, 12 of the first 18 presidents owned slaves, 8 of which actually owned slaves while they were serving as president.
So it's wrong to recognize Lee and his role in our country's history, but okay to recognize Grant? Grant was a slave owner too, and a drunk. If he lived in Alabama and he though it was an expedient path to glory he would have gladly fought for the south.
I don't understand the pro-confederate flag argument. Nobody is saying it should be illegal to fly or have on private property. But, it has no business being involved with any government function.
Why would you want to honor traitors who fought against the United States of America? Does that not go against everything you stand for?
If the British had defeated us during the revolutionary war, do you think they would have statues to honor our soldiers?
Of all people, I wouldn't think you would want to honor traitors of this country.
You mean, like that Benedict Arnold memorial in New York state?
You mean, like that Benedict Arnold memorial in New York state?
Oh, you mean the memorial at West Point that has a plaque for every general named in the war, except for one blank one that lists Arnold's year of birth but excludes his name?
Or do you mean the one in Saratoga that had four monuments representing four important generals of the war, three of whom are named, but the one for Arnold is without a name?
Yes, those. I find them to be highly offensive. Why would you holier than thou New Yorkers choose to honor a traitor?
