Nobody is singing Forever Young?

One of the best songs ever.

guess not herdman. i didnt realize he wrote that one too.
you know, if not for dylan and the beatles there might
never have been rock and roll. they wrote all the greatest
tunes.

i promise you that you and mrs. herdman and all the little herdman
are going to love this show.

Beatles are were vastly overrated

No...but...

Life is very short, and there's no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime,
So I will ask you once again
Try to see it my way,
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out,

i didnt realize he wrote that one too.

Everyone knows that Michael J Fox invented rock and roll.

He's serious. If I remember correctly, he said the same thing about Led Zeppelin. Or was that you that said that?
And yes I don't think Zeppelin is as good as people think they are. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy their music. Both groups are very talented and are great at what they do I just don't think they are as great as everyone makes them out to be

My opinion

Fair enough though 10's of millions of people would disagree with you, but that's fine, we are all entitled to an opinion and I respect yours. IM not a pop music guy in the least, I usually march against the grain with my musical tastes, but theres no denying the impact they had on the music world. I've always been more into a more raw, rootsy type sound myself, but the Beatles were very innovative and trailblazing in what they did.

Seriously. Who do you think are some of the greats?

My opinion

Well, your opinion is wrong.

Vastly overrated doesn't mean you put them at #3 and other groups at 1 and 2. It means "vastly", like maybe they deserve #10 instead of 1 or 2. That's a hard argument to make, given their studio innovation and McCartney's songwriting writing skills and bass playing. And that's without getting into Lennon's songwriting, Harrison's instrument skills, their influence, etc. I can't name ten bands that are better, can you?

I'm not a fan of their music (The Beatles) but even I would have a hard time justifying putting another band in front of them in the GOAT category. They brought pop music to the world. Solo acts such as Elvis, Michael Jackson, rank up there with them regarding musical influences, but very few bands could.

I'm not doubting their impact on the music industry. I'm not a fan of their music but can appreciate their impact on the industry. I should have been more concise in my original post
