I have been mesmerized this morning watching all the talking heads arguing over what teams should be in the new College Playoff. Like any of it matters. This is my twisted view of college football today:
“Coach, your team didn’t win a game this season so why is it you believe you belong in the playoffs?
“Well, you know we played a second best computer rated schedule, we are a member of the SEC, and we shelled out 29 million in NIL funding. We also have a 150 million dollar TV contract with ESPN. Ain’t that enough?”
“What do you say to a team like Bowling Green who went undefeated, won their conference championship, averaged 50 points a game, yet didn’t make the playoffs?”
“Those guys are in the MAC! Not gonna be any team that plays on Wednesday night that will EVER get a bid. Besides, the one big game they had this year, they only beat Ohio State 77-3. Lucky.”
“Thank you, coach and congratulations on your 300th post season appearance.”
That is all.
