….it isn’t Marshall’s. And it’s not even close.
The WKU Toppers slide into a mid-season losing record (1st time since Stansbury was hired?) has to be beyond perplexing for them. I am no statistics geek, but I know that that program has a pretty rich NCAA history of mid major success. Which is why, even with very talented teams, Rick has yet to get the Tops into the Dance. He has been there as long as DD, and zero appearances. They must be melting down in Bowling Green.

I’m confused. You chastised us for demanding better. You say we should be happy winning as many as we lose. Mediocrity is great, says you.

Why should we, or WKU, be be upset at all. We are mediocre/

He has been there 2 years less.

overall record 103-60 versus 128-99
4 straight 20 win seasons versus 3 20 win seasons in 2 extra years
3rd or better finish all but one season versus only two 3rd place finishes
2 regular season 1st place finishes versus none
0 conference tourney versus one

the additional point is that no one has ever called him a great coach, just a good recruiter.

Apparently our fans demand conference titles as THE measuring tool of a HC's ability.
By such logic, this guy needs fired now.

Isn't that the measuring stick for 99% of the fan bases? A championship of some sort. I don't know many that are totally ecstatic with a 7-5 bowl team or a .500 plus b'ball squad that get's knocked out the first round of the league tourney.

I just agree with Bobby Knight I guess. Never wanted a Big 10 tourney because it diminished the regular season. To me, winning the regular season is an indication of the best team. You can’t win it by someone else getting upset, getting on a short hot streak, or maybe catching one team on an off night.

Lets ask the SBC if CUSA titles mattered.

"Hey ODU and USM. Nice to see you without CUSA titles in the last decade. MU, you have 1 but come on in and sit at the table! WKU and MTSU, combined your programs havr the most titles of any two schools but just wait outside."

UNT AD: "Just got off the phone with Mike Aresco."
UNCC: "Oh ya did? What did he say?"
UNT AD: "We're invited to the AAC!!"
UNCC: "Hahaha! To think we had to win in CUSA to move up and out!"
UNT AD: "I know!! It's almost as though, CUSA titles don't matter or something!!"

Talking about fan bases, not the leagues. We know why leagues choose members - at least the smart ones.
