THE REAL KING CHARLES

The Notre Dame coach didn’t seem to have any passion. How do you motivate without it?
Kind of a weird dude. He seemed too concerned about doing that weird thing with his lip anytime a camera would be on him. It’s like The Rock’s eyebrow thing, but with his lip.

Texted Huff after the game with a simple “congratulations.” Instead of taking any credit, part of his response was “heck of a job by the players.”

I’m not sure what the locals think of him, but he has always done a solid job of saying the right things.

ND's coach is ripped tho. I'd love to be his age with a bod like that. But I don't wish to have an 0-2 record.

Great day and as it turns out Huff hired a great staff! Who knew?

If you watched his presser, Freeman’s first name might as well have been Dwight!! He was all “We have to execute.” Very foggy answers to all ?
And then they trotted their tight end (87) out there for about 4 minutes. He wasn’t any better.

But what really galled me? Not once during 17+ minutes of Q&A, never was the word Marshall mentioned!!! 😡

He probably had no idea who he was playing. Just expected to win

Huff lost his starting QB and RB like it was nothing. Heck, he had to replace more starters than that. He just reloads and shoots down Notre Dame like it ain't big thing. He is Talent Evaluation Jesus and that should be a meme.

My, my, my, how the world turns. Mid way through last year the naysayers wanted him on the first thing smokin' out of town. As the more rational posters stated, it takes at minimum a couple of years to massively implement needed changes in a football program. Coach Huff seems to have done it about 18 months.

Now the coach up north is another story.

The chatter is starting about Huff being a top candidate for power 5 teams… I wish we could throw more money at him lock him down for a couple more years, I just don’t see it happening.

Agreed 100%. As the hippie says to the buttoned down guy when he tosses him the keys to the old VW bus: “Enjoy the ride, my dude.” Savor every minute of this season!! 🏄‍♂️🚌

There is no doubt this is probably the biggest win in our football days, given all things, however I hate to see there be a savior complex with huff. Sure, it was a great win and I’m really excited for the next game. But as everyone has seen our fanbase, all it takes is one bad loss and then the ND game turns into a fluke and Huff is overrated, etc.

All it takes is a few conf losses and we don’t even have a shot at the title and all our season shows is we beat a seemingly overrated ND team who lost their starters in week 2. So I really think, that unless he finishes with a conf title, he won’t go anywhere next year.

I can see the Herd finishing 9-1. I think we can win the App State game, but we might stumble against a good SBC team. Either way, enjoy this season with Huff because this is our last one. He just won the lottery with the ND game!

Some G5 coaches aren’t quick to jump. Look at Napier at Louisiana and Chadwell at Coastal Carolina. It’s easy to leave for more money, but can be career suicide with the wrong team.

Exactly. Just to make the jump for more money is very shortsighted. The man is paid 1 Mil total now. He has a good life, has money, his wife has money. I think the biggest issue of him staying for any length of time is how happy she is. Reportedly, she doesn't care for this area. If that's true, he'll leave sooner than maybe even he wants to. Gotta keep the wife happy.

I think we could try doing something and see about getting ourselves a hefty buyout fee. If Huff leaves after this year, we have a tremendous hole at RB plus Laborn and Ali are gone.

The whole college coach merry-go-round blows my mind. A school spends millions on a coach and if he doesn’t win almost immediately, they fire him and spend millions more on another one. How long can this continue?
