When balancing the budget seems to be Trumps main objective by using Tariffs money and firing govenment workers. Wouldnt more taxes on business and ultra wealthy 1 percent of Americans accomplish some of this also? Why put the burden on average American consumers rather than this 1 percent and some of our busineses especially those who pay little or no taxes.?
You are really an economic illiterate. Taxing businesses more, either through tariffs or net income increases will have a price increasing effect on goods and services, costing consumers more $$.
If raising tariffs on businesses is bad for consumers, so are raising income taxes on businesses. GOVT is an inflation generator. Either by printing money or increasing regulatory costs on those goods. Cutting govt expenses and reducing money printing will reduce inflationary pressures.
I admit that too many regulations are bad. But the ones that protect our environment are not. Be careful how you deregulate banks as they can cause a recession very quickly if left to take chances with other peoples money. I gave you proof already that not everyone got a tax break from Trump and you know the 1 percent of wage earners got the most from it. Nothing wrong with cutting fraud and waste from government but to and eliminate whole agencies and firing thousand of workers in such a fast way will cause many thousand other workers to be out work is not the way to do it. Giving large tax breaks to the ultra rich will only increase the deficit . Some jobs will be made from this action but most of the money they receive will be spent on stock buybacks and millions of bonus money given to the executives (even some of them given to executives whose companies are losing money). Also , what about the subsidies that are given to large corporations especially the oil giants is that good for reducing our budget? If Trump gets all he really wants there is no way he can balance the budget, but he will hurt a lot of people not only in the USA but all over the world.
