I think this is a game Marshall can and should win. Outside LSU, they have not seen a defense like ours, a big upgrade over last year's defense in my opinion. The offense is starting to hit it's stride and will be able to move the ball on WKU. I am really surprised on how much chatting I have seen from WKU, this is truly their Super Bowl. Going into Saturday, this is a very young Marshall squad with a nice mix of veteran leadership. Due to numerous injuries, this team has been forced to go 3 or 4 deep and it has not been that big of a drop off in talent. On the flip side, WKU starts mostly upperclassman and a 30 year old QB (6 years in college is called a doctor), this is their one year run. Most of the team will be gone next year (the productive players) and their head coach will be elsewhere, so this is truly their one and done run at the top.

I think we often overlook that Marshall is 32-7 the last 3 years with a conference championship, another conference championship appearance, 2-0 in bowl games and 2-1 against P-5 conference and a chance to play in a third title game in 3 years.

Marshall is the measuring stick in C-USA it is plain and simple. As Ric Flair would say "to be the man you got to beat the man". WKU reminds me of Ronnie "Hands of Stone" Garvin. They got their title (TV title) belt last year when they won in Huntington but a week later the champ took the heavyweight belt and the TV title when they won the belt that matters, Conference Champs. Until a new champ is crowned in less than 2 weeks Marshall holds the belt and I feel the belt is staying in Huntington for a little longer than 2 weeks, but it is just a feeling.

Aaaaah, the 1980s NWA, Slick Rick, Magnum TA, Garvin, Dusty Rhodes when he was only a svelte 280 pounds instead of the 325+ later version in the WWF. Good Memories!

Despite all that, I believe we would all agree, however, that we would prefer that on Friday, the Herd opens up a good ole can of "Whup Ass" on the WKU Toppers, just like Stone Cold would!!!!

time for Dusty and the "four horse men" to ride into town.

Being for the Conference Championship berth I hope it's our Super Bowl too.

Well..."beyond"..I esp like our chance to to be at the top of the league 2016. Chase just getting started even if the WR ranks will be depleted a little. 8 back on offense if CVH gets another yr. Lot of name guys back on D too like G Thompson, R Bee, C Tindal etc. Petty, Durant and Tyler at LB. WOW! Three WRs sitting and prepping so I am excited big for next yr. WKU and MT at the Joan again. We should roll.

With next season's schedule, if they end up with a 10-2 or 11-1 record, and a conference championship, the access bowl could very well be theirs. Boise got in with two losses last season, so it's more than possible.

Things are looking bright. Litton could very well go down as the greatest Herd QB, the defense returns a great amount of talent and experience, and the O will have a ton going for it. I'm excited.

Dude, I couldn't agree more. The #1 thing that makes or breaks this game. Will Doc coach to WIN or NOT to LOSE. A lot of the time I see Doc coaching NOT to LOSE. To beat these guys (WKU), we MUST play to win. If we play NOT to lose, they will wax our @ss! I'm talking 41-14 waxing! But if we come out, fired up, and go after the WIN and don't play predictable offense with conservative play calling and scrappy D, we can and WILL WIN, GO HERD!

We should win the league in 2016. USM will likely win the west in 2016.

Pitt will be our toughest game by far. UL will be solid.

Could be a great year.
