Tiger used to never miss those putts. That is part of the difference now.
As for that shot. That shot is not only hard because it is a fade out of the bunker, but he did it with a 9 iron. It is hard to do that with a more lofted club.

I agree that Tiger made it a bigger deal, but that shot was amazing. There are very few golfers past and present who could have pulled that off.
Being in the sand made the shot less demanding. The ball was sitting up and he was able to get maximum grooves to promote the spin required.
What made it dramatic was the Arnie like finish and that it hit a spot on the green that took advantage of the cut spin and threw the ball at the hole.
All in all fun to watch.
I don’t like Tiger (already stated that) but I agree - that was an amazing shot. I can give credit where credit is due. The guy is very talented.
Seriously? If you skull it and it does that ok. He played that shot.
He had no idea it would take a 30 foot bounce towards the cup. Sure he played the spin but to say there wasn’t luck involved is asinine

Yeah, it takes one hell of an athlete to walk around 18 holes and not have to carry your own clubs.
Yeah, I can actually do that myself, even at almost 59 years old. Hell, I can get up after a late night of drinking with the WMU coeds, and walk 18. Not to mention, I actually have to expend more energy, since I have to take a hell of a lot more swings than Tiger. Plus, I drink a 12 pack while playing. Tiger can't even do that.
Vicodin, Xanax, Ambien, Dilaudid and THC....yeah I got money on Tiger.
He put a cut spin on it and played the slope of the green.
