Compared to the last year, I thought our offense looked a bit more unpredictable.
Good mix of play calls. Looked like we didn’t run the same 3 plays the entire game, I mean we ran a quick slant and green threw it perfect!!! What a slant? That’s new! Green actually kept the ball a few times on the read option, we mixed in play actions, and threw deep when we should have. Mostly a great play called game, our first half was some of the most exciting Marshall football I’ve seen in a while! Quick start and if there wasn’t a pass interference on every play we would have had a better finish... good game and we should only improve!! Good game coach Cramsey!

I was pleased with the new offense... The goal as always is to put points on the board and our guys did that consistently en route to 35 total.

One thing that I was really excited to see is that we used our running backs to their strengths and not just via what always appeared to be an arbitrary rotation. King is our starter, his gift is speed and elusiveness, and he was used as such. Kion Davis is a good second tailback with jet speed and big play potential, and was used as such. Anthony Andersen is a bruiser, three yards in a cloud of dust guy for 1-yard situations and goalline, and he was used as such.

Davis actually started and had more touches in the game, but I agree that our RBs were used to their strengths in the game.

Correct. I was wondering wear he got that, in any case I would call them co starters and doesn’t matter who begins the game

I about lost my mind when I saw the personnel package with Mitchell, Davis, and Anderson. I have been wanting something like that for a long, long time.

Heck I came off the couch when Green did the drop punt or whatever you call it. I mean who does that. LOVED IT!

To think we saw that much variation in just the 1st game. I can't wait to see what gets installed as the season progresses.

Yes coach you have to love punting at your opponents 30 when you are about to put them away

It really makes you wonder what Bill Legg's offense would have looked like with a QB that isn't perpetually afraid to run.

This message paid for by the $10 Bill Legg gave me

I'm on BG's side here, I thought it was a fantastic idea. We weren't in safe FG range, it was a long down (4th-and-6 I think), and we were just trying not to give up momentum being greedy. It also adds a different dimension to our offense on 4th down, which didn't come to play in the Miami game but its now on film, and other teams will have to (waste time) worry(ing) about it.

Frank Solich used to do that shhh to us all the time, and it was demoralizing. Sometimes its a throw, sometimes its a run, sometimes its a hard count that pulls you over, and sometimes it a punt that sends an oblong ball into your backfield. The one thing it isn't is predictable.

I’m not crazy about it. We were a **** hair away from a touchback (Brady great play) and the we’re back to the 20 in like two plays anyway. A first down and TD might have broken them.

I like having that play in our bag but just maybe a different situation or tad farther back or both.

I'll I'm saying is it was just another wrinkle. When we lined up I want to see an actual play ran. I thought we could have picked it up.

The drop punt shows me that Cramsey is comfortable with being creative. That being said 8 don't want to see it become a staple.

Yeah, I get it. I like that play, I just didn't like it in that situation at that point in the game..but what do I know.

I did not like the decision. We had a manageable 4th down and could have also gone for the FG before pooch punting.

I too liked the decision. That will just add doubt in opponents heads on down the line.
