@derekredd: Sources tell the Daily Mail that Herd TE coach/recruiting coord. Todd Hartley has taken a position at the University of Georgia.

I liked Hartley a lot, best of luck to him.

I'm really hoping our recruiting for this season picks up though, so far it doesn't have some of the buzz it's had the last couple of seasons.

I know we have some great kids coming in, no doubt about that, and that we're still a month away from signing day when a lot of the action happens - but still not getting the highly touted 3 stars and sprinkle of 4 stars. and we're really running out of scholarships, we don't have too much room to pick up many others.

We have a good class this year then you add in the transfers and props from last year and it's solid

We need to add a dedicated QB coach to our staff and this allows us the room to do it. It is a critical hire as we don't have an established QB from the I-A level to work with. Peterson built Cato's foundation before he left. That was enough for Legg to maintain. Now we have to start from scratch with some raw candidates who don't have any experience with a dedicated QB coach. We can't afford to misread this opportunity. Get a QB coach and secure the future.

I agree we need to hire a QB coach.

Bill Legg has coached tight ends before, I believe. Let him do that, and hire a guy that has played the QB position well or has shown sustained success as a QB coach at lower levels.

If this guy was the recruiting coordinator it'd be nice to steal Seider back or bring Ratliff back for that. As long as Doc is here, we have a much better shot at Seider, that much I know.

Seider is making $275k to just be a running back coach. He is making more then our coordinators. He isn't coming back

Doc will find a good offensive coach at this weeks conference

We gotta get more money for our coaches. It's kind of pathetic what we pay. Even though to me it is a lot of money

Everyone freaked when Seider left. We continued to do well recruiting and will this time as well, even with Hartley moving on. We'll be fine.

compared to our peers it's not pathetic at all.
