They weren't playing music. They were too busy playing devil's advocate and boofing. It's a bad sign when multiple of his classmates are now going to the media saying that he lied.

I thought it odd and suspicious that he kept saying it was legal for him to drink at that age during that time. I just saw something showing that the drinking age increased during what would have been his senior year in high school, which of course, would make him a liar again.

Yes, the grandfather clause impacted those who were 18, 19, or 20 when the law went into effect. However, the guy who isn't in control of his emotions was only 17 when it went into effect. He was not part of the grandfather clause and was thus drinking illegally the entire time, which he lied about:
