I really think that DD has lost the team. There is no confidence (from a reasonable person) in DD taking this program and turning it around in the very short time he would coach regardless. We are literally a dumpster fire. When Marko (no offense) is your top scorer, we’ve been out coached and outplayed.

he needs to be a good coach and resign for the sake of the program.

Dan will get one year to right to ship. I don't agree with it, but I also don't think Spears will remove him one week into the job.

Agree. Wonder what the excuse will be next year, - so much roster turnover we couldn’t get in rhythm? Lol!

Dan has to and will be gone, for the sake of the Basketball Program. We're entering a new conference and need to set a tone that Marshall BB is to be reckoned with. It will NOT get better next month or next year with DD at the helm. Cut the cord now!

When you have committed to a token effort, which the continued employment of DD is a 100% sign of, then nothing is a “huge loss”. Its just a token effort, something we have to do in order to have football. No commitment to, nor expectation of, winning. Just some buffoonish old man, a retired HS coach, running a gimmick offense that doesn’t work, with some rando players that do not belong in Div I, wrapped in this phony retro nostalgia for a bygone era that never actually happened.

Those of us who still care and expect to win are the suckers. Because it is clear that the powers that be do not care. Because caring about MU basketball means firing DD, firing his staff, and running off as many of his players as possible.

Fire DD.

Until someone with authority makes that determination, I will support our head coaches and the players representing Marshall University in all of our sports.

I can't wait until the next basketball coach is hired, and Sam starts his continual bashing of the new regime from day 1. He did it with football and he'll do it with bball. It is what he does. It is who he is.

On the contrary, I will, assuming its not one of DD’s staff, fully support and give the next BB coach a full chance. Assuming he is competent, meaning his first actions will be to run off as many of DD’ non-DI level players as he can; and then coach up the remainders and the newcomers in proper basketball technique, I will be the first to praise those actions.

And, of course, I never bashed the current football coach, either from “day one” or at all. I just pointed out how disappointed all true fans are at the gross underperformance he put through on year one. It is entirely possible that he turns things around and wins games versus teams with pulses this year. It might just happen. I certainly hope so. Time will tell.

ADs make changes all the time when they take over. They want "their guys". Hamrick didn't waste any time firing Snyder. I know it wasn't a matter of weeks, but he knew it had to be done and the fans were ready for a change.

Keeping Dan on for another season that won't be that much better than this season is a mistake. I don't think Spears will do it, but he should do it. I bet if his name wasn't D'Antoni he'd be gone though.

I agree with most of Sam's sentiments. Danny has had a fair shot at leading the Herd to greener pastures and with the exception of a couple of nice teams led by Elmore hasn't done much. It could be argued that he's led us to a nadir in the sport that he's incapable of digging us out of and left a dumpster fire for the next guy. We just don't have any players that are real difference makers. In football,I still believe in our coach, seems to have brought in an exciting class but time will tell. However , Sam is correct in that we did not beat many teams that were any good. We could have beaten Appy and won the bowl game , those would have been noteworthy victories but alas we didn't. The way we lost a home game to ECU was mind boggling, we literally snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. I walked out of the Joan facing a 2.5 hour drive home feeling much like I did after we blew the 2010 game with WVU which I never forgave Doc.

Translation:
"I have a set of parameters that is nearly impossible to achieve since my opinion matters over actuality. Case in point, Huff having a winning record in his first season, which neither Doc nor Snyder achieved, but my constant bashing of things as miniscule as Huff's polo being unbuttoned will continue, because I am a fan and you're not."
"While on the public forums, I'll pretend to support the new HC if he fulfills my criteria since I know basketball about as good as a blue haired activist knows a decent diet. However, in private I'll be like the guy from the Da Vinci Code, whipping himself in the name of Judy MacLeod at night, because I can't accept MU leaving and me being so wrong that I'd rather just assimilate into someone else publicly than admit it."
"Oh, and if people are critical of me, I'll just remind them that their lack of criticism is just they not being real fans, even though I'm critical of literally everything, thus I am better and cannot be touched."

You have been asked for a link. Could not provide one, because none exists, and then caught in a lie.

You need to STFU. You look silly.

I, and most everyone, have given DD all the chances he deserves. He has proven, save for a one time hot streak, that he simply cannot do the job. This in one of the worst basketball conferences there is. It is time to fire him.

As to CH, he underperformed. That simple. Picked to win the division (that being a repeat of the previous season) he lost to every team with a pulse. No one is calling for his firing. He deserves at least this year, and, barring a total fiasco, the next year to turn things around. But arguing that the last year was anything but a gross underperformance is just delusional.

In case you forgot, I called DD's trajectory and said he and Doc are essentially on the same path, except Doc is likely to finish in a better position than Dan.
It's about the only thing I agree with you on anymore.
Let's put it this way, why would I be so against you, had you not been saying MU shouldn't leave CUSA, or at the very least, the SBC is a bad conference for MU to go to. I try to remain pretty honest on here, so for me to say that about you, you said it. Also, others have commented you said it as well. Furthermore, weren't you against MU being in the extra Bowl game?
Aren't you calling the baseball field a waste of time and money?
So how are you supportive of MU again?

If Dan gets another season, it'll confirm the inherent biased nature of the MU AD, and the supposed "high standards" they set being totally false...MU fired their football CoY, but is going to keep a HC who finished not only dead last of CUSA East but VERY dead last in the CUSA East.
I'm fine with that, but be honest with it...and we know MU won't be.

As for your words about Huff, as the trend on Tiktok goes,
"Tell me you're rooting against your team's head coach without telling me you're rooting against your team's head coach."

ILet's put it this way, why would I be so against you, had you not been saying MU shouldn't leave CUSA, or at the very least, the SBC is a bad conference for MU to go to.
You have been asked for a link. None provided. Then you accused me of deleting these supposed posts. A lie. You are a liar.

What I did say, and stand behind, is that but for a decision made by ESPN and the University of Texas, both of whom don’t really know that MU exists, CUSA would still be our home. And if you don’t like our home, and cannot be happy with WINS in your home conference and happy with the bowls that conference provides, find something else to do.

And, in a few years, when the newness is off the SBC and you and the other trolls are treating it and its members just like you did the CUSA members (and riddle me this, since one of your main targets was ODU, what happened?), I will just sit and smile.
I try to remain pretty honest on here,
Then admit that you have no link, as requested, because said posts were never made. Stop lying.
Also, others have commented you said it as well. Furthermore, weren't you against MU being in the extra Bowl game?
What extra bowl game. I and everybody else that knew the rules, knew and said it was phony tuff “hold me back” BS. Which is was. You get one bowl game per year. Which CH lost.
Aren't you calling the baseball field a waste of time and money?
Because it is. A palatial minor league park is not needed. Our new AD comes from Pitt, where they have a basic 900 seat field that shares facilities with all of the other minor sports venues. Something we could have next spring for petty cash on hand. All we need. All we can afford.

This thread is fun, not valuable in any sense, but very fun to keep up with. Tit for Tat; etc. It's much better the the alternative I have at this minute, doing the Jumble puzzle in today's paper. Keep up the energy gents, I'm loving it...
