Unless we have pull a complete 180° we will lose to WKU, and that sucks, because they're really the only team in CUSA that I have a complete disdain for.

I don't think there's any chance in hell they'll finish with a losing record, even if they do lose to a down & out WKU squad.

I also think that folks are failing to realize that NC State has a pretty damn good football team this year. They're currently 3-0, and will likely be favorites in all their remaining games, with the exception of the Clemson tilt.

I also believe that NC State may have even beat WVU last week, had that game been played.

You're probably right about them being favorites.. the ACC might be the worst P5 conference in existence. Their entire conference rivals the putrid nature of the Big 10 West

NCST may be a very good team, though I was not impressed by them. I saw the same things against NCST that I saw the last two games against Little Miami and EKU. It's not like these struggles we saw against NCST was isolated to NCST. We looked nearly identical offensively vs EKU and in the 2nd half of Little Miami.

Good teams improve and look better week to week. We have regressed from week to week.

Poor coaching

This thread is full of hot takes...

Our offensive line, and defense as a whole, played poorly against NCSU and yet we were in the game in the second half. We won't play another team even as close to as good as NCSU the rest of the season.

Whining about the team regressing (which they haven't) is one thing, but it is important to acknowledge the quality of teams we have played has improved every week as well. And yes, EKU is better than Miami Ohio.

At the end of the day, we still don't know much about what we have after three weeks. Miami is awful, EKU is one step above awful and NCSU is good... The next two weeks will tell us where we stand in terms of potentially winning a conference championship. Could I see this team finishing 10-2 and playing in the CUSA title game? Sure... Could I see this team finishing 5-6? Sure.

We would have lost to SC. wvu would have beat NC State and I think by two or threed td's.

Our lines both need a lot of work and we are playing a freshman qb. Who knows. CUSA is hard to guess.

It's not a good sign if you don't know much about your team after three games.

In my case I am not really basing my opinion off our opposition. I am seeing fundamental mistakes all over the field and a team that is badly out of sync.

I mean just look at the opening kickoff. Yet another special teams blunder. I see WRs confused on and not running through their routes. I see a lot of standing around and watching too. You'll see someone start to break a play and then other players stop and watch. Willie twice on Saturday messed Davis over. Once just standing in his way and then on Davis catch and run down the sideline he had a chance to block out the defender that eventually got Davis, but pulled up and then took a step back letting the guy make the tackle.

Also DBs turning to locate the ball should happen regardless of the opponent.

We may be a talented team right now, but we are not a good team.

I didn't think Marshall played poorly Saturday, I just think they played a team that was more talented, who themselves played a good game. NCSU made a lot of plays Saturday that had the pure football fan deep down inside me applauding them. I also thought their coaching staff was right-on to realize Isaiah Green had never faced a real pass rush and just brought heat all game long. It worked.

Football teams aren't static - the team you have your opening game is nothing like the team you take to your eventual bowl. Players change as they get experience, especially underclassmen, so saying "After four games, here's how Marshall will wind up" when we're playing a Frosh at QB (who still looks like the truth, by the way) is probably a waste of time.

Had it not been for the EKU special teams screw ups, that game would have been a run away. They ran for just over 100 yards against us, had over 400 against morehead and over 300 against BGSU, just saying. Miami could still wake up and do something this season, they played with emotion against us, but not against cincy, that was hard to understand.

Funny thing is, we beat State on Saturday. Some of y’all anoint Coach Doc Coach of the Year, Green for Heisman, and the team in the playoffs. Bottom line, we are going to beat WKU very bad. Go Herd!

That is usually how this and pretty much everything else in life works. You gain praise by being victorious.

Doc is coaching his 9th season amd has am experienced team with a couple new peices. The struggles and mistakes we are seeing three games in should not be happening.

No one is saying we should have obliterated NCST, but we darn aure expected a better showing than what we got. Since mid way through the 3rd quarter at Little Miami this team has looked sloppy and very poorly coached.

Most would agree with you. What made EKU draw so much ire was the fact that we could not run the ball. An issue that carried forward to NCST.

We have an experienced OL with two RBs coming off very good 2017 seasons yet through three games our team's leading rusher has only 128 yards averaging 42 ypg.

Something to thos point is broken. Not saying it can't be fixed, but criticism is warranted.

Oh I don't disagree, there is something wrong with the running game, and honestly it appears to be on the Oline or RB's not running the right holes. Probably a little of both. My only point was that the EKU game would have been way more lopsided if not for the weird special teams team. We were also running away from Miami and the defense started to buckle when the offense stalled. Some things appear fixable and the others I am not sure of.
