Trump: Fvck it, FBI to investigate Kavanaugh

Unless the probe actually finds something, which I doubt, I believe this is just a way to illustrate maximum due diligence.

When the probe is clean, everybody who votes yes will be able to say "what the hell else could we have done ?"

Basically, a way to give everybody who plans to vote yes a clear conscience.

If Trump actually pulls the nomination, they'll never be another approved appointment for the remainder of US history because it will just prove that a salacious allegation, and nothing but an allegation, is enough to disqualify you for federal office.

Trump wins either way. They find nothing he is appointed. They find something he can rail away of the FBI for not finding in their 6 other investigations

I keep seeing this talking point everywhere, has it been on Fox?

And it is illogical. Are you under the impression that only two Presidential nominees have ever been accused of something and none have ever been withdrawn? Granted, only two have been accused of being this fvcked up...Why were there no sordid accusations against Gorsuch if this angle of attack would be assumed to be so easy? Are you saying you and everyone else are stupid enough to vote for a politician that would accuse every single nominee for anything of something, and are you saying the Republicans would do what you accuse the Dems of? And surely the Dems would have accused W of getting his dick sucked if this is what they are all willing to do.

Timing. Timing . Timing

That's sort of my point...while what you say would just be Trump being a buffoon some more, how the hell would the FBI know about something like this unless someone came forward...but either way face is saved.

No everyone was going to vote yes anyway except three republicans that wanted the investigation

Uh, you don't think maybe the current climate of the me too movement may have something to do with it just happening now. You're right about one part though, right-leaning women will likely never accuse a man who was flirting with her of gang rape, so this will just be a tactic used by leftist feminists against republicans.

Save face not sure about that. You can’t fight for someone all the way to the investigation then say it’s all out of my hands later if they find anything

In Trump's world, it makes sense. I've never seen a POTUS so focused on looking good and strong, damn the evidence. He would drive a bro-dozer if not for the limo thing.

You are right, they will just accuse a negro of being born in Africa, or someone of having a tar baby. Nothing evil at all in the conservative tool box, no sir.

And you make quite the leap from flirting to, you know, trying to rape a chick. I've said I could give the benefit of the doubt if he were open to it (I honestly think it happened and he was shit-faced, shit-faced kids do very dumb things), but I pulled my share of pussy in high school and I never had to force myself on someone to flirt. And I hope you didn't either...the fvck dude...

Not a talking point. When i do get free time I don't spend it watching the annoying news shows. If it's going around it's just because it's an obvious conclusion to make in this process. There's literally nothing to back this up except he said vs she said. Relying on personal accounts and memories which are known to be Horribly unreliable. And to top it all off it's shit that's 30+ years ago. So there is nothing, except an allegation.

And gorsach went through because it was not going to change the status quo.

But this appointment for obvious reasons is different. And democrats are obviously pissed about how the repubs played stall ball with Obamas nominee (can't recall his name). So with the stakes we're talking about this time around, you better believe the dems are going to try and drop nuke after nuke to A. Get back at the republicans for stalling until Obamaleft office, and B. Do their best to find a way to derail ANY nominee until they hopefully take back the senate. Because if they don't they've lost any piece of control they had of the court for a generation.

And if that somehow works, you don't think the $hit slinging will continue? Look at how Washington has operated since Obamacare was rammed through. It's been one "turnabout is fair play " after the other. And we're all just left sitting here wondering when the hell theyre going to do something. And republicans are doing the same crap I'm not saying that.

I was using some hyperbole but the fallout of this nominee falling through, based on this? The parties will spend 10 years playing tit for tat trying to get back at each other.

Democrats should be pissed about Garland. That was a total abdication of duty by the GOP Senate. An election is coming up? Jesus Christ, Trump is an unnamed co-conspirator in a federal felony if people want to make such arguments. But to say waiting until the balance would swing to open fire makes sense is silly. Fire away every time, why not?

Many sexual assault cases are he said/she said. Not everyone is beaten half to death (or all the way). This isn't Law and Order SVU. I'm not surprised a girl would say nothing in the early 80s. How old are you? 73 your birth year? You remember the 80s? There was never a movement to report assaults until around 90. Society wasn't all that honest that kids were fvcking until the mid 80s. Shit, high schools wouldn't even tell you to wear a rubber to not get something that would kill you until Rock Hudson turned out to be gay and died of AIDS. And I remember the general freakout over teaching that. I do not remember hearing the word "consent" until college. I mean, it should be common sense, but whoever said teens have common sense? And that is why I think it is incredibly foolish, or just dumbass partisanship, to think this lady is making shit up for political points. Back in the day I was a history major. I was pretty keen on noticing academics liked to judge history by the standards and morals of today. Not agreeing with that, and the fallout from that, convinced me it probably was a bad idea to continue being a history major and saying/writing my opinion. I tend to view everything through contemporary lenses. So yeah, I give her a lot more weight, especially given the now contemporary reality that her ass is going to be on TV bearing her soul in front of millions of people (me too movement whatever, that is still some embarrassing shit), a little more weight than crying his eyes out and yelling Kavanaugh.

BTW, you can type "shit" on here ;)

Haha. I thought it would censor me or flag me or something.

Born in 83, so I was a kid in the 80s. But I totally get that it is not uncommon for assault victims to not come forward. I'm not that uninformed.

I also agree with your prior statements that this is not a trial so there doesn't have to be volumes of "evidence " so to speak. But we're talking about the selection of The candidate to one of the most legally powerful positions in the country. So this isn't Deflategate either. I need SOMETHING more to go on other than the fact that this woman is willing to appear in person and talk about it. Which is all we have.

Plus, I'm with you and even if this DID happen , something like this 30+ years ago isn't disqualifying to me necessarily. You claim that if he'd just own up to it you'd support him. Well what if he genuinely didn't do it? Then in your mind he's disqualifying himself just for telling the truth and defending himself.

Then you throw in this lady's position, and her politics, and the fact that she didn't go to the law she wrote her politician, and said politician sit on this information until the most politically damning moment possible . You can't deny that it could at the very least, to some people, look questionable.

Merrick Garland should have gotten a vote. Had the democrats been honest and just said we're going to do every procedural trick we can to deny the nomination until after the election, I would have more respect for them than this horseshit. Instead, they pull this orchestrated hit to deny a pro-life Catholic the swing seat because they're convinced he's going to overturn Roe v. Wade. Not a fan of Lindsey Graham but he hit the nail on the head.

This lady is telling the truth and it will come out. The federal judge is lying his ass off and it will come out.

Sure. If you could just point me to all the corroborating evidence you're relying on & not just the feelz maybe your statement would hold water.

Hey, did you hear, Kavanaugh throws up a lot because he has a weak stomach. LOL! It has nothing to do with his drinking. Wink wink.

He also has a calendar that proves he didn’t sexually assault someone.

And that bragging about “Renate Alumnius” was nothing about sex, it was about mutual respect. LMAO!

Did you also hear, this whole thing is a left wing conspiracy by the Clintons for revenge. LOL!

And he couldn't remember a baseball game in which he stumbled off the bus at 4:45 am simply because he was having fun talking with his buddies or a Super Bowl because he was in deep conversation with friends. LOL!

And he doesn’t want an FBI investigation because “they won’t come to a conclusion.” LOL!

The “Devil’s Triangle” is a drinking game? LOL! Sure, whatever you say Brett. Everyone knows it’s a reference to sex.

Boofing is referring to farting? Another LOL. It refers to putting alcohol in your ass. Pretty disgusting.

So yeah, he lied his ass off and most people with a modest amount of common sense know he was lying his ass off.

A federal judge sat there and lied his ass off, under oath, and on top of that accused Dr. Ford, whom he sexually assaulted, of being part of a conspiracy. And he threw a temper tantrum like an entitled, spoiled brat, blamed everyone else for his poor choices and cried like a baby in the process.

He’s a POS!

So you can't point to any corroborating evidence.

The thought that he gets along well enough with anyone to get invited to parties...hilarious!
You can rest assured he wasn't there. Otherwise he'd have taken pictures of all the guys so he could look at them later in his own home. You know, like a sane person.

Then entire merrick garland thing is stupid. First of all joe Biden is responsible for that. Second of all at the time trump had very little shot of winning so more than likely Hillary would have been selecting the nominee and it would have been someone much further to the left which would have made raoul and the rest of the Dems happy.

I found her to be credible, and him to just be an angry asshole that lied about the smallest things. Not one part of me believes him.

If it were fake, don't you think they would go all the way and say he actually raped the shit out of her?

Anyway, I don't blame her for not going to the cops 37 years later. They are not going to do anything.
