I am not a fan of his "tweeting" in general...but, anyone suggesting these actions are "backfiring" are probably the same groups of people who thought he had no chance at being President. The same groups of people that never liked him to start with.

Presidents have been getting "roasted" since the founding of this country. Its called politics. This just happens to be the new medium. A medium I personally view as ridiculous. I've never gotten so infatuated with anyone that I had to "follow" them or their 140 character opining. Its completely weird.

Regardless, says more about the person initiating the insults, than the person attempting to mend fences in a gracious manner.
