President Trump is in discussions with a veteran Washington lawyer who represented Bill Clinton during the impeachment process about joining the White House to help deal with the special counsel inquiry, according to four people familiar with the matter.

The lawyer, Emmet T. Flood, met with Mr. Trump in the Oval Office this past week to discuss the possibility, according to the people. No final decision has been made, according to two of the people.

President Donald Trump is in discussions with President Bill Clinton’s impeachment lawyer about joining the White House legal team, specifically to assist with the special counsel inquiry, according to reports.

Emmet T. Flood, a veteran Washington lawyer, met with Trump in the Oval Office last week, the New York Times first reported.

Flood had been one of more than a half-dozen top lawyers to decline representing Trump, the report said.

The attorney represented Clinton during his impeachment, one of thousands of clients he has represented for a wide variety of issues throughout his career. He also worked with the Bush White House and, as far as I can remember, Bush was never impeached.

Drawing the conclusion, which must be drawn because it certainly isn't stated, that he is Trump's "impeachment lawyer" is simply stupid. He is being consider because he has extensive experience working with the Justice Department. Trump has had lawyers handling the JD inquires, have those been his "impeachment lawyers also?
