Fascinating tweet in which Sarah Sanders reveals that Mike Pence was simultaneously in Peru and Washington. If this new capability doesn’t scare our enemies, nothing will. #QuantumEntanglementMikehttps://twitter.com/presssec/status/985329759759601665 …

There are several problems with this statement and the photo, the most glaring of which is that Vice President Mike Pence, seated to the right of the president, wasn’t in the United States when the cruise missiles were launched. He was in Lima, Peru, taking Trump’s place at the 8th Summit of the Americas because the president was preoccupied at home with Syria, with FBI raids on his personal lawyer Michael Cohen’s home and office, and with watching Fox News.

Here’s a photo of Pence landing in Peru on Friday afternoon:

a friend of mine lives in Palm Beach. Thursday, they were told that cheeto would be coming into town from this Monday until at least Thursday. They tell the locals due to road closures during those days. Now, she said they have been told to expect road closures through Sunday.

First, it is wise to tell citizens this far ahead of time of specifics of cheeto's travels? Especially in a place like that, you can pretty much pinpoint the time and exact location/streets he will be using. It seems like too much info to give out.

Second, why the fvck is he once again going on vacation for another week? I am all for presidents getting needed time off (which is never really "off," but at least time to relax). Lets remember this guy routinely called out Obama for golfing too much, using too much tax payer money, etc. for his trips. cheeto even said he wouldn't have time to ever play golf if he were to become president. And, again, I am all for necessary time off. But do we need to see updated numbers for how many times he has golfed and/or been on vacation within his 16 months in office? It is absurd.

All it says is they are in the situation room for a briefing on Syria not that it was during the raids

I DONT THINK ANYONE SHOULD WORRY ABOUT HIM OVERWORKING.

TRUMP SCHEDULE:

This is largely to meet Trump’s demands for more “Executive Time,” which almost always means TV and Twitter time alone in the residence, officials tell us.

The schedules shown to me are different than the sanitized ones released to the media and public.

  • The schedule says Trump has "Executive Time" in the Oval Office every day from 8am to 11am, but the reality is he spends that time in his residence, watching TV, making phone calls and tweeting.
  • Trump comes down for his first meeting of the day, which is often an intelligence briefing, at 11am.
  • That's far later than George W. Bush, who typically arrived in the Oval by 6:45am.
  • Obama worked out first thing in the morning and usually got into the Oval between 9 and 10am, according to a former senior aide.
Trump's days in the Oval Office are relatively short – from around 11am to 6pm, then he's back to the residence. During that time he usually has a meeting or two, but spends a good deal of time making phone calls and watching cable news in the dining room adjoining the Oval. Then he's back to the residence for more phone calls and more TV.

Take these random examples from this week's real schedule:

  • On Tuesday, Trump has his first meeting of the day with Chief of Staff John Kelly at 11am. He then has "Executive Time" for an hour followed by an hour lunch in the private dining room. Then it's another 1 hour 15 minutes of "Executive Time" followed by a 45 minute meeting with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. Then another 15 minutes of "Executive Time" before Trump takes his last meeting of the day — a 3:45pm meeting with the head of Presidential Personnel Johnny DeStefano — before ending his official day at 4:15pm.
  • Other days are fairly similar, unless the president is traveling, in which case the days run longer. On Wednesday this week, for example, the president meets at 11am for his intelligence briefing, then has "Executive Time" until a 2pm meeting with the Norwegian Prime Minister. His last official duty: a video recording with Hope Hicks at 4pm.
  • On Thursday, the president has an especially light schedule: "Policy Time" at 11am, then "Executive Time" at 12pm, then lunch for an hour, then more "Executive Time" from 1:30pm.

Where is he golfing? I get that he criticized BO and he has played more, but I really haven't followed it that closely. It certainly can't be the D.C. The weather just hasn't been that good this far north to play many rounds. Is he going to Florida to play?

Leave security up to the secret service. They might be better at than you.

I know this sounds insane, but they don't launch the missiles simultaneously with the command to fire them.

It can be done in about five minutes for pre-loaded launch targeting scenarios for land-based ICBMs, which isn't the case here. That's five minutes total from get out The Football, choose a scenario, verification, receiving the orders in a silo bunker, punching in the code, and turning the two keys. Which is why the Cold War was actually pretty insane.

When I am out on the Plains I sometimes drive to one of the old Minuteman sites, just to imagine how batshit crazy it would have been to be out there doing some farm work and see the missiles launching. A front row seat to the End of the World.

I wonder what I would do if I was that farmer in the last few minutes or seconds? I guess just keep plowing the field. Maybe go lay down and watch the incoming Soviet nuke come at me?
