Trump speech in Mexico

I too thought it went well. Ballsy, but needed to be done. If he has any chance of turning tide.

GOP just do not have the numbers liberals do.

More people identify as conservative than liberal in America. It's those pesky independents that you have to strive for and the butt hurt Cruz and Jeb bush supporters

Clearly we're not sending our best to Mexico. We're sending liars. We're sending narcissists. We're sending sociopaths.

it was pretty good (the translator standing next to him during the mexican president's address was awkward), but then he completely undid any good from that speech with his speech in arizona last night. at some point if he wants to win he has to realize he can't just preach to the choir. the speech in arizona last night just pander to his base, people that are going to vote for him no matter what. he needs to reach those on the fence and you largely don't do that preaching to your choir.

So you want people to break the law and have open borders?

the majority of americans (and republicans) favor a path to citizenship. if trump stays with his current immigration policy he doesn't even have a shot in hell this november.

He laid out the path to citizenship. Last nights speech was more about sending alien criminals home. I think a process that would work better than Hillarys open borders or Trumps go back home and then apply for citizenship would be to have people just apply for legal residency that are here already (unless they are criminals) That gets you a drivers license and ability to work legally.

that's not what path to citizenship means. but anyway, as someone who doesn't want trump to win, i hope he keeps this kind of rhetoric up, it'll completely take him out of the picture by the end of the month if he does.

All you amnesty people. I have a question. Would you be willing to go along with those receiving amnesty not being able to vote for say 10-15 years in exchange for republicans supporting amnesty.

Your right. Most favor a path to citizenship.....LEGALLY. Since you are voting Johnson, you would prefer simply giving all illegals citizenship? Regardless of their illegal entry and potential illegal activities while here?

You might as well just say you want Hillary to win. Johnson is the one who doesn't have a prayer.

* you're

most favor a pathway to citizenship without deporting them first, which isn't what trump wants to do.

and johnson absolutely does not have a prayer, but i can't bring myself to vote for either of the two major party candidates. hell, i may skip the top of the ballot and i'm tempted to skip the gubernatorial race in wv as well with those two morons running.

No. Only for as long as the current president (Hillary or trump) is president. That way those receiving amnesty could not vote for the president that gave them amnesty. And provided that all who were born here are considered in all aspects to be United States citizens.

"Mr. Trump’s course adjustment emerged in an atmosphere of growing urgency and alarm within his campaign. Over the last week, close associates have told both Mr. Trump and members of his family that he is in real danger of losing the race, according to a half-dozen people close to the Trump campaign and briefed on its activities, who spoke on condition of anonymity to avoid angering the nominee.

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, who lobbied in favor of the trip to Mexico, has told Mr. Trump that he must make immediate changes to regain his footing, associates said. And on Monday, Mr. Trump’s son Eric met with senior officials at the Republican National Committee in Washington and heard a grim prognosis of his father’s campaign, according to people briefed on the meeting.

Without a major shake-up of the electoral map, strategists indicated to the younger Mr. Trump, his father’s already narrow path to the 270 electoral votes he needs to win could vanish. Going through the swing states one by one, party officials showed Eric Trump that his father was drastically underperforming other Republicans in the polls."

the thing is his path to 270 is so narrow and his stance on many issues have put traditionally red states somewhat in play, forcing him to spend time and resources in those states instead of just focusing on the swing states. in normal years, the gop candidate could easily count on the carolinas, georgia, arizona, and missouri, but they're actually somewhat tight races this year, meaning trump has to spend time there to make sure he doesn't lose those states, but at the same time he has to win all 3 of pennsylvania, ohio, and florida.

at this point hillary needs to win one of new hampshire/nevada/iowa and one of pennsylvania/ohio/florida to hit 270. meanwhile, trump needs to hold on to south carolina, georgia, and arizona and manage to win north carolina (leaning blue as of late), pennsylvania, florida and ohio.

Do you think trump is a truthful and honest person?

I asked you first. Trump is an unknown in political circles. We don't know what he would do or what his track record is in that arena.

We have known for 35 years that Hillary is corrupt and a liar.

I dont mind those that are here obtaining legal residency without being deported. So long as they dont have a criminal record. they get to stay and work etc. but dont get the vote. As a legal resident it would also give them a path to citizenship (in which they could then vote)

Yeah, as I posted in another thread if the election was today this would be a beat down like '64 or '84.
