His job was to stand out of everyone's way and just hold his wife's (and all her friends') purses.

Actually this is a good sign. Groups on both sides dislike it. That means their is probably real potential for it to work effectively.

Honestly, many of these groups have not even read the proposal. Most probably had their press release slamming it typed up before it was ever released.

It's not going to pass the house let alone the senate. Too many republicans in the house actively oppose it.

Jim Jordan and his freedom caucus will be voting against it. In addition you have 6 empty seats in the house right now. More than enough may votes to stall in the house

As is Buckeye, I think you are probably correct. However with a few tweaks and a bit of compromise they might get on board. It is a wait and see.

Yep is trump is open to making tweaks and bringing the tea party folks and freedom caucus folks it might not be a problem.

This is where I must commend my relatives. For idiots, they're smart when they need to be.

You know what they do about health care? Go to the doctor, get whatever it is, and throw the bills in the garbage. Never pay, get whatever they need.

What are they going to do about it? Nothing. Reasons are twofold: You can't take from those who've got nothing and the biggie, we're too soft to say go die in the streets.

The poor, lazy, etc. have figured out the ruse. Playing on your sympathies. Until you truly threaten them with dying in the streets if they don't get up off their ass and earn it, this is what you get. I don't blame them. Hell, if we're stupid enough to provide the care take it.

Nope. But far, far better than what the gop is trying to pass. The gop is missing an opportunity (on purpose) to do something to greatly benefit americans.

You love Obamacare, because you're old and don't have to pay shit. Just sit back and enjoy yourself. We'll pick up the tab for you, Gramps.

Well, moron, just like the rest of the gop you just enjoy punishing the poor, sick, and elderly. You're part of the reason I can't keep from laughing when I hear the term "compassionate conservative". You suck.

Republicans have been bitching about Obama Care for the better part of a decade and they are just now announcing a plan that does not have the full weight and support of the GOP behind it?

The Republicans/conservatives are all liars on this. They want Obamacare. This is just a way to pretend to undo something that he pretended to build. It's all bullshit games.

We had universal before Obama. We've got it now. We'll continue to have it unless things get bad enough that we must start letting people die in the streets. It's all fake to keep a few poor suckers out who think they really have to pay.

Trump's main issue is the Mexicans and refugees. That's the only thing he may be able to do anything about. The welfare state we have is already too firmly entrenched. No way to change it without simply being unable to fund it.

No, but I do think having older adults and geriatrics (like yourself) pay a little toward their care would greatly reduce the payments for younger adults.

You are a hugely successful business owner (from what I hear) so you are just a greedy bastard, for not wanting to pay anything.

And you just want to punish the poor youth of this country. Some liberal you are. You're supposed to share your wealth with folks who are too lazy to work.

You smell like a con in lib clothing.

You want costs reduced by eliminating coverage for those who can't afford it without help. Just say it plainly, no sense in sugar coating it.

says the guy that never offered health insurance to his employees. Did you even give them a $100 bucks a month towards their own plan? Biggest hypocrite on the planet.

Let's face it. Healthcare should never have been a "competitive benefit" that employers got involved in. That's still what's wrong with the healthcare plan proposed by trump.

No, the biggest hypocrites are those who preach individual responsibility and then depend on their employer for a socialistic healthcare plan. You don't even comprehend the irony.

I don't depend on my employer for healthcare. They offer it as part of their plan to keep and attract employees.

You never offered your employees anything not even a $100 a bill a month to help them pay for their plan. So, don't preach about how other companies should do this and that and you didn't even make an attempt.

I don't necessarily disagree with that statement. Health Insurance should be like automobile insurance. Competition across state lines and competition among providers.

The insurance companies control it all, from healthcare costs to reimbursement for procedures. They are the ones laughing all the way to the bank.

You DO depend on it. If not, start paying the entire amount yourself and stop depending on the socialism inherent in a company plan. Healthy people are paying for the sick just like any other healthcare plan. So don't pretend your plan is any different than Obamacare with a different name.

Face it folks, Health Insurance in the US is the Great White Whale.

US should not provide insurance for everyone. One gets what they can pay for. To pay for something one needs to work. Not just sit on one's fat ass and say government owes them something. Over 65 is different.

Are you for turning people away at Emergency Rooms if they are uninsured?

I have paid for it myself. It is not socialism if the company offeres it as part your employment package. Obamacare is a govt mandated and subsidized program. I and my employer pay for the medical plan out of pockets.

Are you dense?

No, your employer paid for part of it. It's definitely a socialist program regardless of who administers it. And yes, your insurance plan definitely is subsidized. You are a moron.
