My topics of discussion are so ripe, I don't need new threads to recruit people to them. Take some notes from the lessons I teach this board.Be sure and post in rifle's 80s band thread. No. I learn my English here on Herd Nation:The long awaited use of "both both." They must have taught you that while at the top of your grad school program.
Fat-fingering a phone and missing one letter so that “and” autocorrects to “are” is understandable. Being so simple-minded that you type the same word twice, because you get distracted by your wife’s decorating skills, is entirely different.No. I learn my English here on Herd Nation:

For "and" to be autocorrected to "are," it would require a more complex error or a context in which your phone's algorithm has learned that substitution based on frequent misuse or predictive typing. This wouldn't happen from a simple "fat-finger" mistake, especially since "and" and "are" are different in both spelling and context.Fat-fingering a phone and missing one letter so that “and” autocorrects to “are” is understandable.
Moron, if you type “eight athletes a-r-d,” it changes to “are.”For "and" to be autocorrected to "are," it would require a more complex error or a context in which your phone's algorithm has learned that substitution based on frequent misuse or predictive typing. Your example of typing "a-r-d" changing to "are" might be valid, but it doesn't apply here. Fat-fingering "r" instead of "n" in "and" isn’t common since "r" and "n" aren’t next to each other on most keyboards. Plus, autocorrect usually considers word frequency and context before making changes.Moron, if you type “eight athletes a-r-d,” it changes to “are.”
So if you fat-fingered the “r” instead of the “n”, you end up with “are.”

It's starting to remind me of the days back on TITM, circa 2011, when Arche was using rifle to fill up the scoreboard.
