I will never understand this kind of vitriol.Never heard a more ridiculous take. Know your lot in life, kid.
That's not vitriol. Being honest and forward is not critical or cruel.I will never understand this kind of vitriol.
The “know your lot in life, kid” line is far more ridiculous than anything Tyson Bagent has done. Seems to me he put his name out there to see what comes his way out of pure curiosity. I don’t blame him. There are some things in life you just want to know. That's not vitriol. Being honest and forward is not critical or cruel.
Vitriol? What in the world are you talking about? Did you read the article?I will never understand this kind of vitriol.
Right? PA is usually a pretty level headed poster. He’s certainly a proud MU alum so I’m confused why he’s okay with someone like Bagent giving us the middle finger. That's not vitriol. Being honest and forward is not critical or cruel.
I did. I know the author of the story and I’m going to razz him on the incorrect Saban reference soon.Vitriol? What in the world are you talking about? Did you read the article?
Basically, he “loves Sheppard and wants to stay at Sheppard”, unless the right amount of money comes along.
Free transfers and NIL has ruined college football in less than a year.
Yeah except the players for your favorite team (general statement)ruined? I think the correct word is simply “changed”
that’s all. Nothing is ruined, and to be honest, very little has changed.
Oh really? How about the fact Charlie Batch can openly offer a cool $1 mill to the starting QB at Oklahoma with no repercussions?ruined? I think the correct word is simply “changed”
that’s all. Nothing is ruined, and to be honest, very little has changed.

It ruins the illusion that these kids are playing a game they love, in return they are getting an educationok. And what is that “ruining?”
Truthfully. What does that ruin.
You miss the point. You don’t have college football without the school partOk. So the school part is ruined. The college football part is not.
Except for when Texas offers all online men 50k a year, direct recruiting advantage, players openly shop around for more money. I know you have an image to uphold but if you don’t think nil has an impact on football then you need to start underwriting some loans for beach front property in kansasOk. Basically 2 transfers. One for undergrad, and one as a grad transfer. If the NCAA wants to balance the field, eliminate the redshirt year. Everyone is on the clock once they step foot on campus.not sure what you mean by image to uphold. But do you not think this was going on under the table for the past 50 years. It just brings it above the table now. It’s not going to make any changes. All the big schools are going to be battling for the same kids. They will just be offering money this time in some capacity to get them instead of other things.
doesn’t change anything. We are still on the same level. Getting the same types of players.
No we aren’t on the same level because some guy that owns a car dealership in myrtle beach can pay players more than the john Tudor can pay in Huntington. And your image is the same as the orchestra on the titanic or chip diller from animal housenot sure what you mean by image to uphold. Tax all nil income and deduct cost of tuition from what that make. You get 50k and your tuition is 25k then you don’t get a scholarship you owe school 25 grand and that other 25 gets taxedThere has to be a reasonable limit to what a college player can be payed. College athletics in turning into the pro development league, and I hate pro sports.

Giving students with actual financial need access to more scholarship money.I am sure it will be taxed. But deduct from tuition? What purpose does that serve.
We just lost our starting QB, a local kid with a professed lifelong love for Marshall, to a P5 school. And you think very little has changed?ruined? I think the correct word is simply “changed”

When schools are losing 30 kids a year, yes things have changed.
This 1000x... Part of what makes college football great is seeing these kids develop. Watching them grow and improve and help the team. It’s obvious our resident supafan sees nothing wrong with kids coming and going, fans actually building relationships with athletes. That’s the issue. Fan apathy will only grow when they have no clue who’s playing year to year
My issue is it has been happening for decades.
